To All Syndicate Members of Dinton Fisheries
Well, the 2024-25 season seemed, at first glance, fairly average from our perspective. The late summer spawning seems to have produced a hard spring/summer with lots of our better fish refusing to eat as they were already so fat with spawn. When the deed was done, however, lots of weights were right down and I couldn’t see how they would get back up and show individual growth this year. Luckily, I was wrong and alongside a mild autumn/early winter, the fish got right back up and good growth and best weights have been seen. We have also seen a good number of new 30s,40s, and one 50lber this year as all the lakes continue to improve regards quality stock.
White Swan Lake:
White Swan always feels hard, but when you scratch the surface of captures a good number of better fish are getting caught. With over eighty 30lb+ fish out so far, we have already improved on last year’s stats and I’m sure there are many fish I don’t know about which would improve those stats even more.
Darrens Linear has managed to avoid capture again this year, but some of our A-team that have put in an appearance have shown great growth. Whiskers hit 40lb for the first time, Jons Linear was, for the first time, at a new top weight of over 50lbs, while Son of Triple Row also managed a top weight of 49lb 6oz.
Huge Congratulations to Myles, Manny and Jason Woods for those 3 crackers.
Black Swan Lake:
Black Swan has again lived up to its reputation as ‘the big easy’ whilst also making lots of us scratch our heads as to what we have to do to catch consistently on the lake.
There are lots of captures I don’t know about, but I do know there have been 144 over 30lb including 36 x 40s and 11 x 50s, and a new lake/complex record of 65lb 12oz, as well as 10 new 30lbers and 5 new 40lbers for the water.
Special congratulations, however, must go to Micky Grey whose hard work, time and regular baiting did see him nab 3 different 50lbers including a very honest 59lb 14oz Mirror and umpteen 30s and 40s. Well done too to Nathan Caen who managed Spike at 65lb 12oz - so big in fact, that he’s been off with a bad back ever since! Fingers crossed you are on the mend Bungle.
Longmoor Lake:
A good year regards fish weights with fish to mid-30s being caught, as well as at least 8 different 30s and lots of 20s. For the first time though, Longmoor has suffered with a lot of w**d growth making life a bit trickier for the members, although the fish seem to be more than happy with the extra cover and food which we are beginning to see converted into growth. Most of last year’s stockies have put on 3lb, which is a real positive for the coming years, as well as a few new fish hitting the 30lb mark.
Those anglers that have stuck with it have had some fantastic results landing over 40 fish so far this season. To help combat the w**d growth (and boost the carp stocks) an additional 14 fish from 10-18lb have been added to the lake.

Twyford Reserve:
The Reserve is quietly plodding on with the lake’s residents growing steadily every year. More fish are making it into the 30lb bracket and this year we have had another confirmed new 40lber being banked, plus a season best of over 48lbs. We’ve also had good catches from the weir pool of Chub to over 6lbs, and Barbel to 13lb+ making this a great ticket.
A further 6-8 fish are due to be stocked before Spring.
River Loddon (Dinton):
A quiet season on the river but it has still produced some good Barbel to 13lb and Chub to over 6lb. Perseverance, as ever, is the key to fishing the river but it is well worth the effort.
Renewals 2025-26
Please see the attached information and instructions on renewing for the new season.
Please note that after charging the same membership fee for several years for both Black Swan and White Swan, we have made the decision to separate the two and this year’s charges reflect that. Due to the improved stock and angling experience on Black Swan, the membership cost will be higher than White Swan, as this reflects its superior stock.
