Pinewood Miniature Railway Pinewood (Wokingham) Miniature Railway has been running trains for over 30 years, delighting children of all ages. Why not come down and have a ride!

Pinewood Miniature Railway is a passenger carrying miniature railway (7 1/4" & 5" gauge) open to the public once a month on the third Sunday in the month from March to November. Located at Pinewood Leisure Centre, between Wokingham and Crowthorne in Berkshire, our railway runs for nearly half a mile through in a woodland setting. We're open on 'the third Sunday of the month', from March to October

- running trains from 1:30pm to 4pm. Tickets are £1.50 each or save £1 and buy four tickets for £5. Under threes travel free. We also run 'Special Events' such as our popular 'Birthday parties' (where the railway is yours for 2 hours) and 'Santa Specials'. Thank you to everyone that came for a ride behind our electric and petrol locos today. It was another pretty quiet running day for us but we hope you enjoyed the short queues and a chance to see a few different locos!

Please do try harder with your rain dances though, our next open day is Sunday 20th September (running from 1.30pm until 4pm as usual) and we'd reeaaallllyyy appreciate a bit of the damp stuff...

Our August running day is Sunday 16 August, with trains from 1.30pm to 4pm.

Due to the continued extraordinary dryness, we will not be operating steam locomotives. This will mean a slightly reduced service with a selection of our petrol and electric locomotives, we hope you understand.

We also politely request, and require, that there is no smoking or similar whilst on site to help minimise risk of grass fires.

Tickets are £1.50 each or buy four for £5 (saving £1) with our 'multi-ride' ticket. Children under three travel free.

Free cooling breeze in the woodland setting with every ride! (offer subject to prevailing wind direction...!)

No advanced bookings taken but trains will depart every few minutes. We accept cash and card.

Thanks to everyone that came for a ride or two today behind one of our electric and petrol locos! Given the tinder dry conditions we felt not running steam was the responsible thing to do.

You are all welcome to do rain dances before we open next month, on Sunday 16th August! We'll be running from 1.30pm until 4pm as usual.

UPDATE:
We confirm we will be operating a reduced, electric and petrol only, service. Due to the extraordinary dryness we will not be operating steam locomotives during our July running day.

ORIGINAL POST:
Our July running day is coming up! We'll be open on Sunday 19 July, with trains from 1.30pm to 4pm.

We are keeping a close eye on the weather and may be unable to run steam engines due to elevated fire risk. We'll make the decision just before we open. Without steam we will be operating a reduced service with a selection our range of petrol and electric locomotives - still a nice way to stay cool in the woodland! Please do bring plenty of water and remain hydrated, the concrete area adjoining our site will get toasty if you have to queue.

Thank you very much to all those that came for a ride this afternoon and being able to enjoy the (unexpected) luxury of choosing which engine(s) you travelled behind, some travelling behind all five of them! We always try to accomodate choices but today we were able to be extra flexible, and it was really nice to see so many friendly happy visitors!

Our concern around parking due to concurrent events was proven valid but, top tip from one of our regulars, the southern part of the car park (turn left as you enter the car park) can be quieter that than the bit closer to the railway.

Our next running day is July 19th, 1:30pm to 4pm, we look forward to seeing you then.

Our June running day is coming up! We'll be open on Sunday 21 June, with trains from 1.30pm to 4pm.

Please be aware we expect the site to be very busy as the gymnastics club has an all day event on and this will significantly impact parking. We are allowed to use the grassed area down by the railway as overflow parking (accessed from the road by the 'Scout hut') but please take extreme care when driving on site. Space is limited and the road is narrow.

We will understand if you choose to come and see us another time due to the high level of activity expected on site. But it would be great to see you!

Thank you so much to all our May running day passengers and guests, we hope you enjoyed your time at the railway. We had a quiet start but things got busier as the afternoon went on, with no rain which was good!

Our next running day is 21 June, with trains from 1.30pm until 4pm as usual. Please note we've been advised Pinewood Gymnastics is hosting an all day event so we expect the car park to be (even) busier than usual. We are open on the third Sunday of every month, up to and including November.

Thank you so much to everyone that came along and had a ride today, we were really busy (which took us by complete surprise, especially given how quiet it was last month) but we ran our maximum number of trains and did our best to keep queues moving. We also ran nearly an hour longer than usual to make sure everyone that came along got a trip on our trains! We hope you enjoyed your afternoon with us.

Apologies to those who had challenges parking on site, this is wholly outside our control and if we know of concurrent events we would always let you know.

As a small volunteer run organisation we hugely appreciate all your support. We were asked by a number of people if we could open more often...we simply do not have the resources to do so, the team you see on running days is broadly the whole society! (Did I mention we actively welcome new members....?)

Our next running day is Sunday 17 May, with trains from 1.30pm until 4pm and look forward to seeing you again then.
