After a whole week of cycling , my focus must now to turn to Hyrox London. For my second crack at Hyrox and to beat my previous time of 1.35.11. I’m quite behind in Hyrox specific training so now really need to get focused ready for Nov 26th at the Excel centre 😅

When you realise that accepting the invite to ride Palace to Palace 10days before the event was probably not a good idea.

Serviced bike, bought some padded shorts and today did all my training for the event in the one day. A 20mile ride. A little more confident that as a non cyclist I should be able to make it around 45miles this Sunday 😬

I’ve decided to be a bit braver than normal….these are my ‘before’ photos taken on 18 May. And there is nothing wrong with how I look. If this is how I stay then that is absolutely fine.

But what could I look like if I trained more consistently, with more intensity to each workout and kept progressing and pushing?

And what if, at the same time, I thought more about what I was eating (again my diet is not bad now) but if I upped my intake of protein and lowered the level of carbohydrates and fat 🤔

I don’t want to use my age or that I’m perimenopausal as an excuse for not pushing myself.

And know your ‘why’. I have two young kids and I want to be able to do activities, sports and races with them when they are old enough, so I need to keep myself fit to do this. No one likes getting older so do it the best way that you can and give yourself a fighting chance of staying fit and healthy.
