Starting Tuesday 26th March, I'll be running a weekly Pilates for Runners mat class at shop.
Pilates is hugely beneficial to runners – we’ll be focusing on exercises to:
- increase your core strength, including all the stabilising muscles of your abdominals, hips, back, shoulders and neck (this is essential to maintaining good postural form when running, easing excess pressure on the lower back and legs)
- improve mobilisation in all your joints, by strengthening and lengthening the muscles around them (so that your legs and arms can move more freely, leading to more efficient running)
- improve your balance to reduce the risk of those pesky running related injuries
Don't miss out, Pilates can really enhance your running, giving you the strength and stability to move powerfully and efficiently whilst reducing excess stress and strain on the body.
