Following a tragic medical emergency on the range before the start of the 800-yard stage, we are deeply saddened to confirm that a member of Team Italy has sadly passed away.

At this difficult time, we ask everyone to respect the privacy of their family, friends and fellow teammates.

The Match Director has confirmed that Day 1 of the Individual F-Class World Championships has been cancelled, with competition scheduled to resume tomorrow with the Day 2 programme.

Our thoughts are with the competitor’s family, friends, teammates and the entire Italian delegation at this incredibly difficult time.

Our sincerest condolences to all of their loved ones and to Team Italy.

Reflections on the British Open International Teams Match 🇬🇧🎯

The British Open International Teams Match didn’t produce the result we were hoping for, but it provided invaluable experience and highlighted areas we can continue to improve as we build towards the main event next week.

With some exceptionally tricky and rapidly changing wind conditions throughout the day, it was a real test for every team. Congratulations to the USA F Open Team on a thoroughly deserved victory, and well done to New Zealand F Open for finishing second and South Africa F Open for taking third place.

On a more positive note, our Rutland Team put in an excellent performance to finish second in the Rutland Cup, behind a highly deserving Australian Under-25 Team. A fantastic effort by everyone involved.

We would also like to congratulate the Great Britain FTR Team on an outstanding victory in the FTR International Teams Match. Your hard work, preparation and dedication have paid off, and you’ve done Great Britain proud. Very well deserved!

The focus now turns to the 7th F-Class World Championships. The lessons have been learned, preparations are complete, and we’re looking forward to the challenge ahead.

Onwards and upwards.

Another great day for the Great Britain F Open Rifle Team at the British Open warm-up matches 🇬🇧🎯

It was another strong day of shooting from GB F Open shooters, with several excellent performances across the board.

In the Daily Aggregate, Des Parr—captain of the victorious 2009 Great Britain World Championship team—claimed 3rd place, followed closely by current GB captain Tony Marsh in 4th, with Gary Costello taking 6th.

At 800 yards, Craig Titmus produced an outstanding 75.10 to secure 2nd place, adding to another successful day for the team.

With the warm-up matches complete, all eyes now turn to the International Teams Match tomorrow. We wish all competing teams the very best of luck and are looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic day of competition.

Roll on the teams match!

An excellent first day of the British Open warm-up competitions! 🇬🇧🎯

It was a fantastic start to the week, with some outstanding performances from our Great Britain shooters in the opening warm-up competitions.

A huge congratulations to Carrie Rollafson for an exceptional performance in winning the Tuesday Aggregate, and to our team co-adjutant Lance Vinall for an excellent second-place finish.

There were more impressive results throughout the day, with Gary Costello producing a phenomenal 75.13 at 800 yards to take second place, while Lance Vinall added another podium finish by taking second place at 900 yards.

It’s also been fantastic to catch up with friends from around the world as everyone arrives at Bisley Ranges. The atmosphere is building nicely, and we’re looking forward to continuing to welcome more competitors over the coming days.

Best of luck to everyone competing tomorrow—we’re excited to see what the next day brings!

A stark contrast to last weekend for another productive training weekend with the Great Britain F Open Rifle Team 🇬🇧🎯

The weather certainly reminded us who’s in charge, providing some excellent wet-weather practice and some savage conditions that kept our wind coaches on their toes throughout the day.

Later in the afternoon, after our captain-turned-meteorologist (and hobbyist pilot), Tony Marsh, spotted a sizeable storm heading our way, we made a tactical retreat to the Artists Rifle Clubhouse for a team debrief and a chance to dry out.

With the Inter-Counties competition dominating Stickledown on Sunday, we took the opportunity to hold a team rifle tuning session at 600 yards on Century Range. These sessions are invaluable for refining equipment and ensuring everything is performing exactly as it should ahead of the Championships.

We’re making excellent progress as a team, with just two more training sessions remaining before the action begins.

Best of luck to all team members competing in Round 3 of the National League this weekend. Shoot well and we look forward to seeing the results!
