Why "Not Quitting" Matters
​It’s rarely the child who wants to quit because they "hate karate"—usually, it’s because they’ve hit a plateau, or they’d rather be on a tablet.

Overcoming that "dip" is where the real growth happens...

• Physical Health
Develops functional strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance early in life.
• Mental Fortitude
Teaches them that progress requires "boring" consistency and that failure is just a part of the process.
• Screen-Free Focus
A Dojo is one of the few places left where phones are strictly forbidden, forcing 100% presence.
• Self-Regulation
Martial arts teaches how to channel energy and frustration into controlled, productive movement.

How to Help Them Stay the Course
​If you are looking to keep your child (or yourself!) committed, here are a few ways to bridge the gap when motivation dips:
• ​The "One More Belt" Rule: Agree that they can’t quit when they are frustrated. They can only re-evaluate after they achieve their next milestone or belt level.
• ​Focus on the "Why": Remind them of how far they’ve come. Sometimes children (and adults) lose sight of their own progress.
• ​Model the Behavior: If they see you prioritizing your own fitness and screen-free time, they are much more likely to view it as a family value rather than a chore.

**July Achievements at EWRK**

A Month of Growth and Success

July was an incredible month for our club, marked by significant achievements and milestones across all areas. We're proud of the hard work and dedication shown by everyone!

Fight night-
Our mixed-age-range fight night sparing sessions have been a huge success. The sessions have allowed members of all ages and experience levels to practice their fighting techniques in a safe and supportive environment. It's been great to see everyone learn from each other and build their skills.

London Competition-
A massive congratulations to our competitors who took part in the London competition! Their hard work paid off, bringing home fantastic results and showcasing the high standards of our training. Your success is an inspiration to us all.

Grading Excellence-
We saw some truly amazing standards at the last grading. The dedication to excellence was evident in both the kata and two-man techniques. The results reflect the incredible effort put in by our members and the quality of instruction they receive.

Adult Kickboxing on the Rise-
Our adult kickboxing program continues to grow, attracting new faces and creating a vibrant, energetic atmosphere. It's fantastic to see so many people getting fit, learning new skills, and becoming part of our community.

Club Growth Continues-
We're excited to welcome all the new members who have joined us throughout the summer. Our club is growing stronger every day, and your enthusiasm is a vital part of what makes our community so special.
