WIVELISCOMBE RFC DINNER AND DANCE 2024

On Friday night we celebrated everything Wivey RFC is about, It was the perfect end to another season of rugby 🏉

A massive thank you to everyone who helped to organise and put on the event, and a thank you to all the players, volunteers and supporters who attended!

Ladies it goes without a doubt that this season (our first league season) has been outstanding! Finishing 2nd in the table with 51 points is something you should be proud of! You dug deep every game and proved that team work and determination can get you far! We are so proud of you all and can’t wait to see where next season takes you!! 💙❤️

2023/2024 season over and out for for Wivey Ladies ❤️💙

And wow what a a season it has been, we came into this season (it being our first season in a league) not knowing how we would get on, we went into it with an open mind and a love for rugby! Turns out we absolutely smashed this season and have finished 2nd from the top in a tough league.

Last night we headed to .rfc.official to play chard ladies team. It was such a strong tough display of women’s rugby last night from both teams. Our wivey ladies played hard and fast, with some amazing line outs, scrums and fast paced moves lead to a 10-24 win 🏆

some great try’s from Jessica Weaver Ruby Terry Jasmin Aimee Tansy Shandley-Edwards & Ella Pursey all added to the score!

MOM -
BOM - who has just come back from injury and wow have we missed her! Carrie continued to tackle anyone and even joined up with her sister for some Bristow team work! Well done!
FOM - who played amazingly running through everyone with hard lines and scrummaging with pure grit and determination
Players player - who stepped up to kick our conversations, played both forwards and backs during the game, and was just amazing as per usual!

Big weekend for the club this weekend as well as it being Super Saturday! 🏉

This week both the men’s and women’s 1st teams will take on Penryn. The ladies will be playing down at Plain Pond and the men’s team will be playing on the Rec. come on down and show your support!

And to round up the day of rugby, we will be showing all six nations games up on the big sceeen down at the club! ❤️💙

A fantastic day for our Wivey Ladies yesterday with a 70-0 win against ladies. Thank you so much to Trowbridge for coming down to play us and putting in a shift, each and everyone of you played with smile and kept the spirits high so thank you! Was great to see such sportsmanship from both teams both on and off the field.

Our ladies dug deep, played strong and hard and worked together to put on a display of fantastic rugby! ❤️💙

FOM - for outstanding tackles and amazing effort from start to finish!
BOM & DOTD combined - our very own miss hatrick scored three amazing tries but she did also loose her gumsheild moments before kick off to find it where she left in in her boot bag … 🫣😂

Our next fixture is against cheddar on the 3rd of march so keep an eye out for more information regarding that!

League rugby is back and this week we head to Cheddar Valley to play Cheddar Valley RFC we are ready to go and excited to play after a few weeks away from league rugby 🤩🏉

A BIG BIG weekend this week for our Wivey Ladies as they take on in a top of the table clash! 💥

The clubhouse will be open and our ladies will appreciate all the support, so head on down and get behind the girls as they battle for the “top of the table title” ❤️💙
