As summer is on the way and the skatepark is getting busier, we thought it might be a good time to remind people about the skatepark etiquette to help everyone enjoy our skate park.
🛹🛼🛴Open to all: All wheeled-sports are welcome in Wivey, but please be respectful of how other riders use the park.
🛹🛼🛴Wheels take priority: If people are skating/scooting, please don’t let kids run around on the park or use the ramps as slides. It is super risky for them and the people skating/scooting who may not be able to see them.
🐍 No snaking! People standing at the top of ramps are waiting their turn, do not drop in before your turn, or cut across in front of them. It can be really dangerous, and may lead to conflict.
〰️Go with the flow: Skateparks are designed with flow lines that go up and down the park. Avoid cutting across, standing around in the flat sections, or riding round in circles, as this makes it hard for other people to use the park at the same time.
✊🏻 Be respectful: The little things really help make our skate park a great place… help each other out, don’t be a ramp hog, put your rubbish in the bins, and be kind to each other, we were all beginners once!
Happy skating all ✌🏻
