The 2026 European Camp in Oeiras, Portugal, was the biggest and best event to date! Here’s what we saw on Day 1:

* Over 450 participants from 11 countries on the mat training together
* 43 teams competing in sparring, combat weapons, team demo and team sync
* Sessions taught by Grand Master Tammy Harvey-Stauber and Master Jharen Haynes
* 125 black belt testing and midterming, including two testing for 6th degree and one for 7th degree

Exciting News: The European Championship Tournament is now a Class A Plus event!

This is a new sanction from ATA International that only applies to 3 tournaments worldwide. Competitors earn more points than Class A events (and less than Class AA events): 12 points for 1st place, 8 for 2nd place, 5 for 3rd place.

Points earned at the 2026 European Championships will apply to your 2026-2027 competition season. You are allowed to count your points from two A Plus events each year.

🌍 From England to Germany — ATA is growing in powerful new ways!

After years of running a small club in England, Katie Gurden and her husband Anthony have set out on a bold new chapter: transforming a historic 125-year-old German inn and former pub into the first ATA Martial Arts Academy in Germany.

Embracing the wisdom of Eternal Grand Master by “Honor the past, embrace the future,” they’re preserving the rich character of the building, while bringing the strength and values of Songahm Taekwondo to a brand-new community.
