When Austin came to me the goal was far more than just a normal transformation, it was become a superhero single dad. He told me he wanted to look like Yujiro Hanma an anime character that he liked. Now I can’t grow hair for people like that but I sure can slap silly amounts of muscle on people.
What I think is most impressive about this transformation was a lot of it was done during lockdowns. Oh yeah we turned dadbod Austin into a superhero during lockdowns. But Austin is another example of what real drive can do. Because it wasn’t enough, we had conversations about what he could do next as that confidence built. He went from average to turning heads, and that does something to you. You become sure of yourself and confident. You back the decisions you make.
We spoke about bodybuilding and the stage. We decided to enter a PCA first timers show in classic physique.
As we dialled in for the show he just kept growing, kept putting more muscle on, and that resulted in him being moved out of classic into open class as he just dominated the classic guys. In open he walked away with a third place trophy.
But after the show, that confidence in who he was, and that image he represented was far more important. The superhero dad who set an example for his kids to follow became the standard. His family will forever be able to look at who he became because of the steps we took.
