Cotswold Classic ‘26; what a morning!
A sell out year, fantastic weather and records falling.
Some say records are made to be broken and broken they were… in the men’s field Jonathan Davies (Oxford City) set the early pace and never looked back; extending his lead over the race and smashing the 10 year course record by 3 minutes and 36 seconds. He was followed home by Witney Roadrunners’ Matt Lock and Dan Blake who secured the team prize, for Witney Roadrunners alongside Nathan Langford.
In the women’s field Natasha Roebuck (Witney Roadrunners’) defended her title, beating her own course record she set last year by 48 seconds. She was followed home by Isabel Stubbs (Witney Roadrunners’) and Charlotte Firth (Windsor, Slough, Eaton & Hounslow AC). The ladies’ team prize was also secured by Witney Roadrunners’ with Lauren Beedie joining Natasha and Isabel on the podium.
We hope you all enjoyed your ‘fundulating’ lap and a huge thanks to all the Marshalls (90+) and supporters out on the course - a special shout out to the Wood Green brass band who provided the surprise at the top of Hillzakilla; the pirate and cheerleaders who welcomed runners home; our generous sponsors and The King’s School for hosting us. A huge thanks of course also goes to everyone who joined us. See you next year 🙌
