🏆 Cup Winners! 🏆

A brilliant night on Friday for our Wishaw Wycombe 2009s who lifted the Central Lanarkshire Youth FA League Cup after a cracking 3–2 victory.

The boys showed great character and composure in a proper cup final, playing some excellent football and digging in when it mattered. Finals are never easy, but the lads stuck together and fully deserved their moment lifting the trophy at the end.

A huge well done to every player for the effort, attitude and teamwork shown all season — and especially tonight.

Thanks also to the coaches, parents and supporters who were there backing the boys all the way. Nights like this are what youth football is all about.

Well done lads — thoroughly deserved! 💛💙

⚽ Goalkeeper Wanted! ⚽

Wishaw Wycombe 2015s – are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper.

We’re a great bunch of boys who train Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Coltness High School, with games Saturday mornings.

Plenty of fun, good football and a brilliant group of kids.

The coaches are mostly alright as well! 😄

If you know any 2015 boys who fancy going in goals, give me a shout and we’ll get them along to training.

⚽ Cup Final Time for the 2009s⚽

A big night ahead for our Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers 2009s as they take on Castlemilk Dynamo in the cup final.

📅 Friday 13th March
📍 New Douglas Park
⏰ 7pm Kick-Off

The boys have worked incredibly hard to get themselves to this stage and they’re looking forward to the challenge.

It would be brilliant to see plenty of support along at Hamilton Accies’ ground to cheer them on.

Good luck to the players and coaches — enjoy the occasion and give it everything.

Wishaw Wycombe 2017s looking the part in their brand new kit! 💛💙

The boys were all smiles this weekend getting their team photos taken and they’re looking very sharp in the new strips.

A huge thank you to Arif at Wishawhill Stores for his very kind support in helping us get the kit for the team. Local support like this means everything to grassroots football and honestly we couldn’t keep things going without it.

The boys are buzzing with the new gear and ready for the games ahead!

Thanks again Arif — it’s massively appreciated by all the players, coaches and parents. 👏⚽

⚽ Last weekends League Result

Three more points on the board last Saturday as we edged out Bellshill 1–0 on a very heavy grass park.

Not a classic by any means. The surface made it difficult for both sides and the game became a bit of a scrappy affair.

Our goal came from a long throw that caused chaos in the Bellshill box, eventually forcing an error from their defender which ended up in the net.

Bellshill had a big chance to equalise with around ten minutes to go when they were awarded a penalty, but thankfully it was missed.

Late in the game the frustration showed a bit with two Bellshill players being sent off, which summed up the scrappy nature of the afternoon.

We were down to bare bones ourselves, but the boys dug in and showed a lot of character to see it out and keep our 100% league record intact.

📊 Sitting top of the table with 10 wins from 10 but still plenty football to be played.

No league action tomorrow as we switch focus to the Lanarkshire Cup…

…and just to add a bit of spice, we face Bellshill again.

FULL TIME – Johnstone Burgh 2 Wishy 4 💛💙

A 9am kick-off in Govan and we maybe looked like a team that had the scars from our recent cup upsets

With a bare bones squad we were pegged back twice and had to dig in properly this morning.

But this group has character in abundance.

Two goals in the last 10 minutes secured the points and showed exactly why this team keeps finding ways to win.
