Our new tube laser cutter is installed and operational! This will allow us to re-engineer some of our products and speed up manufacturing times.

DEM Sports Black & White Revolving Sight Screen

Just a quick reminder that we don’t just make cricket cages! Our Black & White Revolving sight screens come in two standard sizes – 4 m and 8 m – and bespoke options are available. Planks are white plastic, black-foiled on one side, and completely maintenance free – no painting needed! Look out for an updated design coming in 2026.

Loughborough Greenfields Cricket Club didn’t have room for a fully fixed practice net, as it would have extended onto the pitch and shortened the boundary, meaning it wouldn’t have met league requirements.

They needed a bespoke hybrid cage which has a fixed 4 m back section, with posts to secure it into sockets, and 14.3 m of folding sections, so the cage now folds well back behind the boundary rope.

If your club doesn’t have the space to put in a full 18.3 m net, talk to us about other options – we can turn our hand to pretty well everything!

DEM’s partnership with Batting Cages Australia – we’re off!

We’re excited to say that DEM’s partnership with David Jones and his company, Batting Cages Australia, is really taking off. David’s company won an award in the Design and Innovation category at Australia’s Sports & Play Industry Association annual conference last week – with a DEM Sports bespoke 9m Concertina Cage! Brilliant news!

And the shipping container with 22 cages is now loaded and will be on the water to Australia at the end of next week. We’re off down under!!

Loughborough Greenfields Cricket Club didn’t have room for a fixed practice cage, as it would have extended onto the pitch and shortened the boundary so it wouldn’t have met league requirements.

So they needed a kind of hybrid cage – a fixed 4 m back section, with posts to secure it into sockets, and 14.3 m of folding sections, so the cage folds well back behind the boundary rope.

Just another example of our responsiveness and our ability to adapt our fantastic cages to meet specific customer needs.

The Club Mobile Cage

John Loveday in one of our 7.3 Club Mobile Cages installed this week at Cambourne Cricket Club, to the delight of the ground staff and players. The 7.3 m cage retails at £1295, and there’s a 10 m version at £1725, as shown at Hadleigh Cricket Club. All manufactured from the same top-quality materials, and with the same care and attention to detail as our top of the range cages.

So John’s now back in the UK after a very busy trip to Australia, talking to people in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth to gauge interest in our folding cages.

It seems there’s a huge market, especially into schools and backyards, and David Jones’ company Batting Cages Australia, is going to be the sole distributor of DEM Sports’ cages in Australia and New Zealand.

We’re really excited by the opportunities this presents, and look forward to getting the first container-load on the water in June.
