I love the fact you're so determined to do a great job as a parent, and that's truly inspirational.๐Ÿ’™

And on that journey, it can be easy to leave yourself behind, as you've prioritised pretty much everyone and everything apart from yourself...

In this place it can feel lonely... Some days you're so tired you can barely get out of bed, and the one thing that keeps you sane is the glass of red and the 15 minutes you get to enjoy it. (I don't blame you!)๐Ÿท๐Ÿ˜ด

Enjoying a few glasses is completely fine with your weight loss goal, but you have to be clever with your consumption.

Here are some things you need to consider if you want the best from both worlds... ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿท๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

Swap the Bordeaux for a low kcal Gin!
But what if that's not your standard pick?...

It means....

โœ… Meals need to be FILLING to give you enough room in your calories.

โœ… Pick what you prefer... It's wine OR the not so good snacks (not both).

โœ… Track or log your intake to stay accountable.

๐ŸŒŸ It also means (for best results)..

โœ… Use a daily / weekly limit to keep consumption under control.

โœ… Have a clear reason why you're drinking by drinking with friends/family/dinner only.

โœ… Don't feel guilty! Stick to your plan so you can enjoy the full benefits without worrying or guilting yourself into pouring it down the sink..

Sometimes It's wayy too easy to focus on the negative and believe people when they tell us why we can't achieve whatever we want...๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป

We feel useless, hopeless, and that our goals are seemingly so far away...๐Ÿ˜ญ

But the truth is, whether you're dropping 10lbs, or trying to take more time for yourself - the only person who can do it is you. ๐Ÿซต๐Ÿป

If you're upset right now, that can be a great thing. It's a sign that you're meant for more and your body is sending you a signal to take action.โš ๏ธ

Moving away from suffering is how we move forward. It's what motivates us to get up in the morning, be disciplined, and achieve better for ourselves each day.

Therefore, if we didn't have it, we'd have no need to achieve anything in life, and I get that this probably isn't what you want to hear right now, but it's what I needed to hear when I went through the same thing.

Struggling on the weekend isn't something you should have to worry about, but unfortunately, it's something that plagues dieting mums every week.

With the 6-weeks holiday now in full force, this time can feel like nothing but a headache, because we've got more demands on our time, less structure, and more to think about - and for some it can feel like a prolonged version of the weekends we're constantly worried about.

So here are some possible solutions to help you out: ๐ŸŒŸ
1- Plan ahead ๐Ÿ“…
By accounting for extra consumption over the week, we can have the best of both worlds by staying on target AND enjoying an indulgence or two.

2 - Be Flexible ๐Ÿ“ˆ
If your meal plan is costing you the things you like to do/eat then it's not worth it, and things tend to change anyway. We're here for a good time not a long time, so make sure you're enjoying the PROCESS of weight loss instead of fixating on the destination.

3- Get small wins ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป
Braking a big goal (like losing a stone) into smaller chunks means you'll get more wins along the way, and that means we'll only have more motivation to keep going and be consistent as we begin to get results.
By making small mindful decisions on the daily, we can stop ourselves from steering off course and give us more proof that we're doing what needs to be done (and therefore moving to our result)

People's beliefs (like feelings) will rub off on you, so surround yourself with people on the same path as yourself if you don't want to be constantly distracted.

If you're surrounded by people who don't understand or recognise your efforts, you'll struggle to break free from (and often conform to) their old expectations of you. Long-term change means identity change.

"Environment is stronger than willpower"
Our willpower varies in strength from moment to moment, but our environment tends to be static and unwavering. Therefore, it's just a matter of time before it overcomes you again when you're fatigued. Change your environment, and you won't need to rely on fighting your physiology.

Often, when we say someone is disciplined, we mean that they are consistent, and consistency comes from integration into your lifestyle and identity - and that makes the work much easier.โœ”
Conversely, when we verbally abuse ourselves, it's often because our willpower did not live up to our expectations, and why would it when you're fighting your physiology.
