🏆 Stamford Tournament Report 🏆

Today we competed in the Stamford Tournament against some very strong teams and the girls were outstanding from start to finish.

We finished 2nd in our group of 6, scoring plenty of goals and conceding just one goal all day – a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work, determination and teamwork shown by every player.

The girls played some excellent football throughout the tournament and battled their way into the semi-finals. Unfortunately, after a hard-fought match, we were narrowly beaten by Corby on penalties.

While the result didn't go our way, the girls should be incredibly proud of their performances, attitude and effort throughout the day. They represented the team brilliantly and showed great character against some very good opposition.

Wisbech St Mary U9 Girls hosted their home tournament today, and what a day it was!

A fantastic day enjoyed by everyone, with amazing football on display, plenty of goals, and some brilliant clean sheets along the way.

Playing in your own tournament is special, but winning it is something else. The girls went unbeaten all day and capped it off with a superb 4-2 victory in the final against a very strong Stanground side.

With other teams and parents saying we were the team to beat, the pressure was certainly on—but the girls delivered in style.

As a team, we continue to improve week after week, and as coaches, we couldn't be prouder of every single one of them. Their hard work, teamwork, and determination were there for everyone to see today.

We keep moving forward. 💙⚽

League Cup Final

Wisbech St Mary 1-0 Waterbeach

An unbelievable game of football in today’s League Cup Final, with both sides showing exactly why they deserved their place in the showpiece event. From the first whistle to the last, the match was played at a fantastic level with commitment, quality and determination on display throughout.

In a tightly contested final, the decisive moment came courtesy of a brilliant strike from Reenie, whose goal proved to be the difference between the two teams. It was a moment worthy of winning any final and ultimately secured the trophy for Wisbech St Mary.

Waterbeach pushed until the very end and played their part in a superb contest, but Wisbech St Mary stood strong with a performance full of heart, resilience and togetherness.

Immense pride for every single one of these girls, who played with incredible spirit and passion throughout the competition. Their hard work and belief have deservedly brought the League Cup home. 🏆
