Race Results Newsletter Week 24 2026
Firstly, a quick catch up with a race that took place on 7 June. Susan Pilling-Wilke ran the Swansea half marathon along with nearly 7000 other competitors. finishing in the top half of all women runners.

It’s been a busy week both on the track and the road, commencing with another Trafford Grand Prix on Tuesday evening. Billy Spann and Edward Pettitt both achieved new personal bests in their respective races.

On Thursday evening, Aaron Doyle and Rich Ryan came home in 1st and 2nd positions in the Birchwood 5K near Warrington. Abigail Howarth continued her progress, winning the women’s race finishing in under 20 minutes for the 1st time since having baby Felix.

Later in the day, many of our school-age athletes were competing at the Cheshire Schools Track & Field Championships at West Cheshire’s track in Ellesmere Port. On a breezy but dry day, several achieved top 3 placings in their respective events.

On Saturday evening, the British Miler’s Club held their 3rd grand prix of the outdoor season at the Loughborough University track. Harry Parker-McLain was just outside his personal best with another sub 1:50 clocking.

Down in South Wales, Tom Taylor raced in a 5000m at the Tonypandy Track Classic which involved 5 graded races at that distance. Tom achieved a fine time in his debut track 5000m. Ellie Bushill ran in the elite women’s 1500m and came 2nd.

Moving forward to this morning, 19 of our athletes completed the Colshaw Hall 10K near Knutsford. In a very competitive field, Aaron Doyle crossed the line in 7th place in a new personal best time. Andy Miles was just 1 second outside his own best finishing one place behind Matt McCormack who himself achieved a new personal best time. Katie Latham was 3rd woman to finish.

This afternoon, Trafford AC have hosted another medal meeting, largely for the benefit of the younger age groups. Imogen Parker-McLain competed in 3 events, winning 2 with personal best performances. Lily Coates improved her 800m best and should now rank 7th in the UK at U16. Max Roberts also improved his PB for 1500m, dipping under 5 minutes for the first time.
