Please be aware that Winsford ABC is unable to train children under the age of 9 due to insurance requirements.

We kindly ask that you do not put our coaches in the difficult position of having to turn children away on arrival. This can be upsetting for the child and places unnecessary pressure on our coaching team.

All of our coaches are volunteers, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a positive environment for everyone.

😡 Absolutely Disgusting – Completely Let Down Today

We are absolutely gutted and angry to come down today and find our outside area has been deliberately damaged and left completely unsecured by a group of youngsters.

This wasn’t an accident. This was mindless behaviour that has caused real damage to a facility that is there for the whole community to enjoy.

A huge thank you to the neighbour who stepped in and told them to leave 👏
without that, it could have been even worse.

What makes this even harder to take is that our coaches are volunteers. They give up their time, energy, and effort week in, week out to provide a safe and positive environment for local children. Now, instead of doing that, we’re left cleaning up, repairing damage, and paying out of our own pockets to secure the area again.

It’s honestly heartbreaking and incredibly frustrating.

We do have CCTV footage and we will be reviewing and using it.

If anyone saw anything or has any information on who was responsible, please message us directly. This isn’t acceptable, and we won’t just ignore it.

We’d also respectfully ask parents and guardians to have a quick word with their children about respecting community spaces. These facilities don’t just appear, they’re built and maintained by people who care, and once they’re damaged, it affects everyone.

Please respect the facilities in your community, because without people willing to give up their time, places like this simply won’t exist.

Last night, Samuel Lythgoe took part in his third skills bout at Birch Green Show. Sam showed great skill and composure throughout the contest, boxing confidently on both the front and back foot and looking comfortable in every exchange.

Samuel is improving with each contest, and his dedication to training and to the sport of boxing really shows. Everyone at Winsford ABC is very proud of Sam and all the hard work he continues to put in. Well done, Sam — a brilliant performance and a bright future ahead! 🥊👏

Last night, we watched Max Puskiss compete in his first contest at the JCS show in St Helens. As always, Max was full of smiles and eager to get started.

In round one, Max came out strong, taking the fight to his opponent and landing some heavy shots that forced him backwards. He worked incredibly hard throughout the round, keeping his opponent on the back foot. However, his eagerness led him to use a lot of energy early on. Towards the end of the round, Max stumbled and received a standing eight count. Despite this, he finished the round strongly but returned to his corner exhausted.

Going into the second round, Max tried to box, but it was a step too far as his energy had been drained. Credit to his opponent, who recognised this and capitalised, leading to the referee stopping the contest midway through the round.

Max should be very proud of himself and can hold his head high. This was a valuable learning experience, particularly in understanding the importance of pacing. He knows where it went wrong and will come back stronger.

Max is already looking forward to stepping back into the ring. He loved the experience and, true to himself, was all smiles throughout. Everyone at Winsford ABC is extremely proud of him, and we’re excited to follow the rest of his boxing journey.
