With a huge weekend of sport ahead, why not join us at Axewell View as our women’s team takes on Durham City Dragons at home, kicking off at 2pm ! 🏉

The lasses are fired up after a tough away loss to Durham, where they led at halftime but were edged out in the closing stages amid some challenging weather conditions.

With fingers crossed for better weather this time around, why not come down and support the lasses while getting your sporting fix before the EFL Cup Final kicks off at 4:30pm.

! Beaver Moon Brings Big Bashes in Winlaton !

Friday night saw a fantastic performance from the Winlaton Vulcans Ladies, who came into the game as underdogs against a strong Whitley Bay Rockcliff (WBR) side, packed with experience throughout their lineup.

WBR chose to play uphill in the first half, giving the Vulcans the opportunity to capitalize on the downhill momentum. Winlaton started strong, piling on the pressure from the whistle and scoring four tries in the first half, including two conversions and a penalty try due to a high tackle.

With a commanding 26-0 lead at halftime, the Vulcans entered the second half confident they could close out the game. Facing the challenge of WBR now playing downhill, Winlaton had to defend for much of the second half but still managed to create moments of brilliance in open play to push into the opposition’s 22. Despite two well-crafted tries from WBR’s backline interplay, the Vulcans held firm to secure a 26-12 victory.

Player of the Match: Lauren Pyle ( #12), awarded by WBR for her dominant performance on both sides of the ball.

! Friday Night Lights ! 🏉🏉

The women’s team returns to action this Friday night, taking on WBR Roses in what promises to be an intense and competitive matchup as both teams aim to build on their seasons.

In their last home game against Guisborough Phoenixes, limited availability on both sides led to a 10s match. Winlaton dominated to secure an 85-5 victory and scored 15 tries. Despite the scoreline, credit goes to the Phoenixes for their sportsmanship and spirit throughout the game.

Come out and support your Winlaton Vulcans Women as they play under the lights and aim to put on an entertaining Friday night performance!

Rugby Saturdays aren’t just for the lads!🏉

The Winlaton ladies are gearing up for their second match in the Inner Warrior Series in which we’re excited to host Guisborough Phoenix.

After a hard-fought, narrow loss away to Jarrovians in their last outing, the ladies are ready to bounce back and take a step forward.💜

Join us for an exciting day of rugby, with the women kicking off at 1pm, followed by the men’s 1st XV at 3pm, as both teams chase their first win of the season !!
