If you’re struggling to get started… try this 👇

Set your alarm for 5am.
Get up, put your running kit on and just walk around the block.

That’s it.

If you feel good… maybe try a little run.
If you don’t… no pressure.

Start slow.

Why 5am? Because at that time, nobody needs your attention. No kids asking for breakfast. No emails that can’t wait an hour. No distractions. Just you.

Do this for a week.

If it feels good, try running the whole route. Keep showing up for 4 weeks and now you’ve built a habit.

Then maybe add a few sit ups and push ups at the end.

People think motivation comes first… it doesn’t. Action comes first. The confidence and motivation follow after.

Your life won’t change overnight… but getting up one hour earlier might just change the direction of it.

Something I hear all the time from new clients — no time for breakfast. Kids to sort, life to get out the door. I’m not judging, I live it too.

So here’s what I actually do when mornings go sideways:

Greek yogurt
Protein powder (1 scoop)
Blueberries
Raspberries
Peanut butter

Done. Two minutes. No excuses needed.

Top tip — half the battle is just making sure these are always in the house. No ingredients, no breakfast. Keep your fridge and cupboards stocked and you’ve already won the hardest part.

Is it perfect? Nope. But it’s a damn sight better than nothing 👍

Age really is just a number. 💛

One of the biggest misconceptions people have before joining us is thinking they need to already be “fit enough” to start.

Truth is, some of members in the gym are in their 60s and 70s. They arrive with sore knees, tight backs, old injuries and a body that doesn’t always move like it used to… but they still walk through the doors and get it done.

Not because they’re chasing perfection.
Because they want to feel better, move better and enjoy life more.

That’s what we care about.

No egos. No pressure to keep up. No programmes designed for a 25-year-old athlete.

We coach the person in front of us. We adapt. We support. We help you get the best out of yourself on that day.

How many times have you heard me shout…

“5… 3… 2… 1… TIME/GO!” 👊🏼😂

Over the years, it’s probably echoed around thousands of workouts, classes and coaching sessions.

Starting out as a Physical Training Instructor, I learned very quickly that coaching is far more than sets, reps and stopwatches.

When you step onto the gym floor with a whistle around your neck or a stopwatch in your hand, you carry a huge responsibility. You have the ability to lift someone’s confidence, change someone’s mindset and sometimes completely change the direction of someone’s life.

That’s something I’ve never taken lightly.

No matter what’s going on personally… you still have to bring energy, professionalism and your A-game EVERY SINGLE SESSION.

Because for some people, that one hour of training is the best part of their day.

And after all these years, I still love it.

So… honestly… how many times do you reckon you’ve heard me count down and shout “TIME!” at the end of a workout? 😂👇🏼

Back to squad training today — only 30 minutes, but she did really well and the ankle held up fine. Each day we’re finding different ways to challenge her and slowly build back confidence and strength. 👏

And to all the swim parents out there… massive respect. This life is not for the faint-hearted 😂 Early mornings, late evenings, endless galas and hours spent poolside.

What’s really holding you back?

“Money” — but the car on the drive says otherwise.
You’ll invest in alloys, gadgets and weekends away… but still avoid wearing a fitted T-shirt on a night out.

“Confidence” — yet you’re the loudest laugh in the room with your mates.
You can command a crowd… but not walk into a gym?

“No time” — but your screen time says 3 hours today.
Somewhere between scrolling and swiping, there was time to look after yourself.

Or maybe it’s simpler than that…
