ARE THERE BOWLERS AT YOUR CLUB WHO WANT TO IMPROVE THEIR GAME?

“Unlocking the Dark Arts - a guide to the art of lawn bowls” by Greg Sampson.

This book is aimed at club coaches who want to run courses for groups (Greg’s got over 25 on his current course at The Avenue, Coventry); and the 37 activities in it are also suitable for individual bowlers who want to practice and enhance their skills.

For people interested in buying a copy of the book the cost is as follows:

£5 for the book

£2.50 for UK postage

Please email Greg at [email protected] to place an order, with your address.

Why would Greg Sampson write a book on bowls? What are his credentials?

I have played with and against some of the best bowlers in the country.

MY TOP THREE AMBITIONS FOR THE REMAINDER OF MY BOWLING CAREER:
1. To be the best bowler I can be.
2. To help other bowlers to be the best that they can be.
3. To enthuse others to join the game.

The Club was saddened to hear this week of the passing of Ray Swatridge who died on Wednesday.
Ray a keen sportsman all his life and a member of Windlesham Bowls Club for over 25 years served the Club as a distinguished player, captain and committee member, he was made a life member 2 years ago. Ray was latterly chairman of the Club and was well known in the local bowls community. Our thoughts are with Betty, herself a long standing member of the club, their daughters Jane and Jenny, and their grandchildren.
