It fills me with pride and joy to say that Vortex Cricket has turned 3 years old this year!

We have had the privilege to coach so many people all ages, abilities from a variety of backgrounds.

“1-1 WITH HAYDEN”

Another top quality session for summer working with Hayden who plays with Old Elizabethan’s!

In the session, we looked at getting more onto the foot as well as being more decisive with our movements specifically backwards and forwards.

A great session working with a great young lad he has a great attitude of wanting to improve and wanting to become better!

“FIELDING DRILLS”

Whilst being able to work with , the lads completed a fielding circuit and rotations.

Within the circuit, we looked at three different components of field which included high catching, ground fielding and flat catching!

It was a great chance to see the lads in action as well as taking some amazing catches before they had a hit in the nets!

A great session with Max the other working on rotation of strike as well as facing deliveries on a leg stump line.

We also covered some work on facing the new ball with a sidearm! A quality session with an excellent player wanting to improve and represent the club moving forward!

“PERFORMANCE CAMP HIGHLIGHTS”

Thrilled to share some of the highlights from our May Half Term Performance Camp last Monday.

Was great to be coaching juniors ranging from U9s all the way through to U16s.

Some exceptional talent and great people in the groups! Across the day, we covered bowling, batting and some fielding elements of the game.

“1-1 WITH FREDDIE (WICKET KEEPING)

Great to be working with Freddie again but this time with a different focus being wicket keeping.

We completed a series of drills ranging from hand eye coordination, catching and leg side movements.

A great session as ever and was great to be doing some keeping work!

“1-1 WITH FREDDIE”

A great first session working with Freddie! In this session, we looked at getting our head closer to the ball as well as the bat coming through straight.

We also looked and touched on having a routine when batting and getting set ready to play the ball it’s merit!

“CIRCLE OF CHAOS”

A great drill to get players moving both laterally and towards the ball.

To do this, you simply need a couple of balls as well as some cones for each player to start on.

You also need a Flexi stump or a stump in general to add as a deflection aid.

A great warm up or great catching game with lots of adaptations for your players!
