Well done to Martin Gilpin and Dan Monks on winning the Brian Baines memorial doubles at Windermere Queens park bowling club yesterday, runners up were Joan Loveland and Bob Lord.

Please can all entrants to our Brian Baines competition on Queen’s Park bowling club in Windermere this Saturday 6th June be aware that there is a cricket match on the recreation ground on Saturday so please do not park near the cricket pavilion as you may well get blocked in or your car damaged by a cricket ball!! 🏏

Congratulations to Kieren Clark beating Martin Wilson 21-18 in a great final at Windermere Queen’s Park bowling club today in the Ken Kissock singles, losing semi finalists were Jono Cooper and Paul Kissock.
Kieren also won the amazing cake donated by Bruce Barnes, which £100 was raised for cancer care locally.
Thanks to all who helped on the day, a great days bowling on an impeccable green with great refreshments.

Tomorrow, Sunday 10th May, Windermere Queen’s Park bowling club are hosting the Ken Kissock memorial singles starting at 9.30 with £740 prize money to be played for in entries and sponsorship from Metcalfe Bros plant hire and Windermere bowling club.
We have kindly been donated a cake made by Bruce Barnes and his daughter Kirsty and along with our usual raffle we will be raffling the cake separately with proceeds to Cancer Care locally.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow and hope that the sun is shining.

I am sorry to inform you that tomorrow’s doubles competition has had to regrettably be cancelled. We have an issue with the green due to the recent weather, and with 3 hours rain expected overnight the green keeper quite rightly feels that it would be a health and safety issue to play on it.
As a club we want to put your safety first, so it is our only option to cancel, we may hopefully be able to reschedule later in the year.
I am sorry for the disappointment this may cause.
We look forward to seeing you at future competitions. Jane
