Flat To Live - Lay back, ears in, look up, relax and float 🩵

We have lots of fun ways of encouraging little ones to get comfortable on their backs and learn how to do this. Twinkle twinkle, count the dinosaurs, spot the unicorns, how many monkeys swinging through the jungle?

All little steps towards this all important life skill! 🩷💙

Learning to float 🩵🩷 The most crucial part of learning to swim and core water safety skill for life.

It takes support, encouragement, trust, respect, confidence - and yes, practice really does make progress. 💗

Back floating is a huge part of all of our play with purpose classes, no matter the age of the little ones who come to our sessions. 💝

We focus on getting your child comfortable with laying on their back, their ears in, calming the response reflexes, making them feel safe. 💘

Our Splashers, Paddlers & Kickers classes all have the support of the child’s adult in classes until our Swimmers sessions - these are our pre-school lessons for children aged 4-5, who are in the pool independently with teachers in the water (and often teaching assistants too) and parents on poolside close by. 💕

This and Float To Live technique is a water safety skill your little one can learn for life. 🌟

We also think it’s the best feeling in the world! 💓

We’ll be floating like star fish in classes this week - enjoy! 💖

Safety first! Always! Whilst our classes focus on learning through play, safety is always at the heart of all that we do.

It’s |ssuk Drowning Prevention and Water Safety Week and we are committed to teaching vital safety skills in all of our classes - and with an extra special focus this week.

Happy Birthday Baby Squids UK! 14 years of so much splashy fun! 🩷💙

With 17 UK franchises and more than 24,000 lessons now running a year, we’re celebrating all those precious firsts in the pool. With so many swim wins, we’ve also been doing some maths!

And we’re excited to help more than 2,500 children in swimming lessons every week, based across 60+ swimming pools throughout the UK.

We’ve helped thousands of beautiful families to embrace their aqua adventures and enjoy the magic of the pools with us!

And how did it start? Well, Laura set up the company after attending several swimming classes with her own children, but felt they were very goal driven, lacked flexibility, friendliness and fun. So, she decided to start her own nurturing and child-led swim teaching business - and here we are!

A supportive and inclusive community, with passionate teachers, where babies and pre-schoolers aged 0–5 can develop water confidence, safety skills and learn to swim and love the water through play with purpose.
