Cheltenham Town Wheelers - CTW

Cheltenham Town Wheelers (CTW) are a British Cycling club for young riders based in Pittville Park in Cheltenham (next to the Prince of Wales Stadium).

We provide coach led sessions and support riders to race at local league events. We are cycling club aimed at promoting youth cycling in the Gloucestershire area. We organise training, races and rides for riders of all abilities, under the age of 16. Our events are predominantly run under the British Cycling 'Go-Ride' and 'Go-Race' programme and we have links to all of the other British Cycling affiliated clubs in the area.

Rollers are back with the addition of a yoga movement practice 💙

Tonight’s session we used hangman to distract riders from the effort. To uncouple the body movement and the brain. Noticing things that happen when our brains are thinking about something else, going to hard or slowing down, one rider actually stoped pedalling to think.

We only played the game for half the time but it was a great way to experience distraction in a setting where it doesn’t matter. Bringing our attention back to our body and what we’re aiming to achieve.

How have you done this before in sessions. Would love some more ideas. 💡

This was also our first yoga practice and whilst Nicky feels very unfamiliar with the set up and working through all the things you have to remember it was a good start. Thanks to for all your support over the last few months as I have built on my learning and putting it into practice.

The countdown to the cyclo-cross season is on!

C&CCC will host Round 2 of the Western Cyclo-Cross League at Pittville Park on Sunday, September 28th.

Come represent the club by racing or volunteering.

Bring the Family

The Mini HONC will return this year in partnership with Cheltenham Town Wheelers.
Mini HONC is a three hour endurance event using the grounds of Sudeley Castle aimed at younger riders (U18) who want a challenge in a safe environment. If you are signed up for HONC 40 why not bring your young riders and make a family day of it in Winchcombe.

This weeks course will feature the hurdles for all age categories, with a B line option for riders who are uncomfortable with lifting their bikes in the younger races.

Today we will meet in the park at Pittville, our home since 2017 and celebrate the ever changing and ever growing community of riders we have created.
