Winchcombe Cricket Club AGM will take place Monday 18 November 2024 at 7.30 p.m. in the Working Mens Club in Winchcombe. All members encouraged to attend, it is not expected to last more than an hour.

☀️ The cricket season is fast approaching and we are doing our best to get the ground, nets and Club prepared for the summer.

💰 A significant amount of money has been invested recently in new windows and doors, fencing and various other things which has depleted our funds so we are urging members to settle their membership as soon as they can prior to the first games to help our cashflow until we get going.

🙌🏼 Many, many thanks to those of you who have already paid their membership.

We are pleased to be offering junior indoor cricket sessions from Tuesday 9 January 2024 at the sports hall in Gretton Road, Winchcombe, between 5-6 p.m. for children from Year 3 and above.

All information is on our website where you can sign up for some, or all, sessions. A professional coach will be on hand to lead these sessions and places are limited.

To wind up the season we are having Presentation of Trophies and a Bonfire Party on Saturday 11 November from 7.00 p.m. at the Club. All Members and Friends welcome!

There will be food available, the bar will be open and trophies will be presented, plus there will be a spectacular bonfire.

The Club is having a stall at the Winchcombe Show in August, and it is going to involve throwing balls at china!

We would welcome any donations of old china, however big or small, to use. If you have anything you want to get rid of please drop it off at the club (open on Saturdays for matches after 1 pm).

Obviously doesn't matter if it is chipped, but no glass please.

Everyone at Winchcombe CC is very saddened to hear of the passing of Lawrence Watts, who served as Chairman and player for many years. Our condolences go to his family and friends and a minute's silence will be held by our teams this Saturday as a mark of respect and thanks for his service.

As junior sessions end for the season a huge thank you to all our volunteers who have given up their time after work on a Friday to cook food, prepare the field, purchase bar stock, serve at the bar, clean up afterwards and put the kit away and to the volunteer coaches on Friday nights who also had to attend training courses in the depth of winter - it couldn’t be done without you!

Due to a local event (Winchcombe Abbey Primary School summer fair), we are starting Allstars and Dynamos at the slightly later time of 7 p.m. this Friday 30/06/23.

President's Day will take place Sunday 2 July from 1.30 p.m. at the cricket club. There will be a match involving a President's XI v 1st XI. The bar will be open and food will be available and we invite everyone to come along and enjoy the afternoon.

We would like to make the day a memorial to Phil Hillyard, who gave so much for so long to Winchcc as player, committee member, coach and Captain and we will be taking the time to remember him during the event.

Looking forward to seeing lots of players and members, past and present, at the Club next Sunday.
