What a beautiful day for our first league match, and what a fantastic pitch to play on!
We may not have come away with the points, but we can’t be disappointed with the determination and effort we put in.
Taunton came out strong, putting us under pressure in the opening 10–15 minutes, but Sid was fantastic in goal, making some amazing saves to keep us in the game.
We then found our rhythm, worked brilliantly as a team and got the breakthrough with Scarlett scoring the goal and an assist from Joey.
Taunton continued to push, but our defence stood strong, including a brilliant goal-line clearance from Jas.
They eventually found the equaliser just before half-time.
The second half saw both teams come out fighting, but Taunton took the lead within the first 10 minutes. We created plenty of chances and kept pushing, but unfortunately couldn’t find that finishing touch. Taunton added a third, bringing the final score to 3-1.
The scoreline may not have gone our way, but there were so many positives to take from today. The ladies battled right until the final whistle and showed exactly what this team is all about 💛🖤
