We can confirm that Sean Hill has stepped down from his role as Wimborne Town F.C. Women First Team manager, in order to take up a full-time role in football.
Our Women’s First Team had a record campaign under Sean last season, achieving a highest-ever finish, along with finishing runners-up in the Dorset Cup, and reaching the First Round Proper of the FA Cup.
Stepping down, Sean said: “After a seven-year-long connection with the club in different roles, the most recent two seasons with the Women's Section, it is with great sadness that the time has come to step away from Wimborne to pursue a new full-time role elsewhere.
“I step away from the club with some incredible memories, especially most recently in the previous two years with the Women's First Team. To see the growth in the club over the last seven years has been phenomenal, built and driven by so many incredible people that dedicate hours week-in week-out to the club and the teams within it's family.
“I feel privileged to have played a small part in that growth, especially leading the growth and expansion of the Female Section over the previous two years. Not only building a strong, ambitious First Team squad and solidifying our regional league status, but creating so many opportunities for women and girls to access and play football at a high level, working to overcome barriers within the female game and creating a strong link and pathway with our youth teams and women's reserves.
“I have been lucky enough to meet, work closely alongside, learn from and directly coach some incredible people, coaches and players through the years involved with Wimborne and have made relationships and connections that will no doubt continue outside of the club. The female section of this club is in a strong, exciting position for the future and I look forward to following the progress from the outside.
“Finally, a personal thank you from me to every single person that has been there in support for the Women's First Team internally and externally at any point over the last two years, all of it has been greatly appreciated by myself, the coaches and the players involved. I personally have loved every minute.”
Everyone at Wimborne Town would like to place on record our thanks and appreciation to Sean for all his hard work over the years, and wish him all the very best in his future career.
