🏆 DIVISION 2 CHAMPIONS! 🏆

WE’VE ONLY GONE AND DONE IT! 💙🏏

After a long, hard-fought season of big wins, tough days, runs, wickets, rain delays and plenty of ups and downs, Wilsden CC are Division 2 CHAMPIONS! 🏆

The title was secured today with a 4-wicket victory over Gargrave 2nd XI — and with one week of the season still to go! 🔥

A brilliant effort from everyone who has pulled on the Wilsden shirt this year. The consistency, commitment and team spirit have been there all season, and it’s fantastic to see it rewarded.

One game left to enjoy, but the pressure is off and the job is done. 😎

Phone away. Mind at rest. 4pm on the pitch hits different. Leaving reality behind, one over at a time, under the perfect golden hour. This is where manhood pauses and pure peace begins. 🏏🔋

We finally have a grand total 🥁🥁🥁🥁

Our annual charity dog show raised £721.63 this year for Aireworth Dogs in Need. That’s our highest amount yet! So thank you so much to everyone who contributed in any way.

🏏 WEEKEND TEAM NEWS 🏏

It’s another big weekend for the club, with plenty of cricket to get behind! 👊

Saturday sees the 1st XI head away to Skipton CI, looking to get back to winning ways, while the 2nd XI welcome league leaders Denholme in what promises to be a tough test at home.

Team selection has been incredibly tough this week, with a number of players unavailable. To still be able to put two teams out is a fantastic effort and a real credit to the commitment and support of everyone at the club. 💙👏

Then on Sunday, it’s all eyes on Bingley Congs as our 2nd XI head to the Cowling Cup Finals Day! 🏆

After narrowly missing out last year, the lads will be hoping to go one better this time around and bring the cup home. 💪🏆

So, wherever you can, get yourselves down and support the teams this weekend — and especially on Sunday for Finals Day. A big crowd makes a huge difference, and we’d love to see plenty of familiar faces getting behind the lads! 📣🍻

The 1st XI managed to extend their lead at the top of the standings with a win away at Silsden. Unfortunately it was not a double win weekend as the 2nd XI couldn’t find a way to beat a strong Sutton in craven side.

🐾🏏 ONE WEEK TO GO!
Prep your pooch and get ready for a wicket good day out this Sunday 2nd August at Wilsden Cricket Club — gates open at 10am. Organised by Wilsden Animal Feeds in support of Aireworth Dogs In Need this annual charity dog show is the perfect summer holidays day out for the whole family.

Expect a tail-wagging line-up including dog show classes, dog races, agility, temptation alley, stalls, refreshments, and prizes — plus the club bar will be open, and there’ll be gourmet hot dogs to keep everyone fuelled, from chilli dogs to BBQ pulled pork dogs, with vegan options available too.

It’s pawsome fun from start to finish — no ruff plans needed!

A big weekend ahead after both teams picked up wins last Saturday! 👏🏏

The 1st XI are on the road as they take on Silsden, while the 2nd XI are back at home against Sutton in Craven. Hopefully we can keep the good form going and make it another successful weekend. 💪

If you’re around, come down and support the lads! The bar will be open throughout the game with lagers, ciders, spirits, soft drinks and snacks available, so there’s no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon. 🍻
