Recently we completed our annual capsize drill. This is where we intentionally roll the boat and capsize. It's really important to practice these drills as it helps us prepare for how we should respond to a real capsize or an emergency and keep everyone safe. This year we covered additional scenarios for loss of helm and loss of drummer too.

!! West Yorkshire Parents / Guardians, Youth Groups and Organisations !!

After the success of the session for young people at the Bradford Dragon Boat festival in Saltaire we are keen to introduce our fabulous sport to the next generation of potential paddlers. We love the idea of more young people learning the benefits of teamworking, friendship and exercising outdoors.

We're running a session specific for young people to try Dragon Boating at 6pm on 8th October, from our base at Doe Park Water Activities Centre in Denholme. Participants must be age 12+, be accompanied by a responsible adult and have the consent of their parent or guardian to take part.

Please message us to register your interest and we'll collect some details from you to help us plan the session. We hope to see you there! 🐉

We are proud beyond words of our very own superstar Liane Llewellyn Hickling who has been announced as Captain of the Senior A Ladies Dragon Boat Team at the European Championships in Munich 🩷. We'll be cheering you on from home later this week and can't wait to hear all about it! We wish all the GB Teams all the very best in their races 🐉🌟🐉🌟

Well what a weekend at Bradford Dragon Boat Festival! Bradford Barracudas did themselves proud supporting the charity teams, who were raising money for some brilliant causes, and also volunteering to help the event run smoothly. There was also time for a bit of friendly rivalry with our friends Yorkshire Sharks in some thrilling races on Saturday. We hope all visitors and competitors enjoyed themselves and we'll see you next year 🩷

As we've been so busy with Festival prep and other commitments, we're taking a break for a couple of Tuesday training sessions...then Nationals prep begins... 💪🐉
