My heart was broken to hear the news of our wonderful member Carrie Watt’s passing.

I’ll always remember our weekly coffee catch-ups, the way she’d bring Bailey dog biscuits & quietly top up his water bowl when she knew I was busy with sessions, her ongoing battle with the lat pulldown adjustments (although she more than made up for her lack of height with extra personality) & her utterly infectious laugh.

Carrie had a way of lighting up a room. She was a true people person & any member who got to know her here will tell you she always had time for a chat. Her positivity and outlook on life touched so many people, and she will be so deeply missed.

We send all our love to her husband Bob and to her family at this incredibly difficult time.

Carrie will always remain a part of The Fort. Her presence, her kindness, the memories she created & support she showed within these four walls will never be forgotten. Thank you for reminding us why this place is about so much more than just training.

Rest easy, Carrie. 🤍

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING // Wednesday Mornings 💪

Our Strength & Conditioning classes combine structured strength work with fitness-focused conditioning, giving you the opportunity to build your lifts, improve fitness and move with more confidence.

Each session is coached throughout by Cody, so you’re never left wondering what you’re doing or whether you’re doing it right. Technique is taught, progressions are offered, and everything can be adapted to suit every person in the room.

One of the things we’re most passionate about at The Fort is making sure everyone feels looked after. Whether you’re completely new to training, coming back after some time away, managing an injury, or looking to push your performance, the session can be adjusted to meet you where you’re at.

The strength work helps build a solid foundation, while the conditioning element improves stamina, work capacity and overall fitness. Together, they create a balanced approach to training that carries over into everyday life.

No pressure to keep up. No expectation to be the fittest in the room. Just good coaching, hard work and steady progress (which you can measure over time).

FORTROX // Tuesday Nights are going offffff! 🔥

A few people back from their holibobs this week, a few trying FORTROX for the first time, and the atmosphere was unreal.

If you’ve never tried it before, FORTROX is our take on functional fitness racing. A mix of running, rowing, ski erg, sleds, carries and strength stations that challenge your whole body and keep things interesting from start to finish.

It can help you build fitness, improve your stamina, gain confidence in what your body can do & make training feel fun again.

The best part, though, is the atmosphere. Everyone grafting, encouraging each other & sharing the struggle together. Whether you’re racing the clock or just trying to get through it, there’s room for everyone.

Safe to say tonight’s crew absolutely smashed it. 🔥💪

I built this space because I wanted somewhere that felt different: no overwhelm, no ego, no feeling like you need it all figured out before you start.

The Fort is simple on purpose. Turn up, feel part of it & get to work. Beginners and experienced members train side by side, without judgement.

We’ve got everything you need - strength, conditioning, classes, or your own thing.

We’ve allowed them to recover a little & now want to say a huge congratulations to our amazing members .ratcliffe who all completed the London marathon a couple of weeks ago smashing barriers & repping what The Fort is all about.

An incredible feat & we’re all so proud of you! 🙌🏻🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
