Here I am on Monday, still sitting and thinking about what an incredible weekend we experienced at Deadly Dozen Cardiff.

And Cardiff did not let us down.

From the athletes of Wales to those who travelled from all over the UK, the energy was absolutely unreal. Every race, every effort, every finish line moment reminded me exactly why I love this sport so much.

To be part of Deadly Dozen in a new location and helping deliver fitness racing to another part of the country was a real privilege. The facilities were fantastic, the atmosphere was electric, and the people were simply outstanding.

Being on the microphone as MC is something I’ll never take for granted. To witness the hard work, determination and grit of every athlete, and to play even a small part in their race-day experience, is genuinely one of the best feelings imaginable.

Cardiff has given us another unforgettable chapter in this season.

A new city.
A new crowd.
A new level of energy.

Wales, you absolutely brought it. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🔥

What a sport.

I share how discovering HYROX post pandemic completely changed my life and my family’s life for the better.

After feeling lost post-pandemic without the competitive team sports I loved, HYROX gave me back my purpose and positive mindset. Not only did it improve my mental health and give me goals to chase, but it also brought my partner and I closer together as we trained and competed as a team.

The sport made me a better role model for my kids, and it culminated in an unforgettable moment when I proposed to my partner at the finish line of our first HYROX race together.

🟣🚨The BIGGEST HYROX Mistake Everyone Makes👀🚨🟣

THE ONE THING WE REALLY NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HYROX… 👇

Too many people in HYROX focus on the stations too soon.

The sled. The wall balls. The burpees. The carries. 👀

But here’s the truth from…

If you don’t build the ENGINE, the stations will expose you.

At its core, Hyrox is an endurance race with functional fitness thrown in. If your aerobic engine isn’t there, everything feels harder, recovery between stations gets slower, and the wheels can fall off quickly.

🏃‍♂️ Build the engine first
💜 Zone 2 work matters more than people think
🔥 Don’t over-focus on stations too early in the process

The strongest athletes aren’t always the ones who perform best…

It’s often the athlete who can keep moving, stay composed, and keep showing up station after station with the strongest base (engine) who do well.

Purple Army… trust the process. Build the base. Build the engine. THEN sharpen the race-specific work.

Because if you can keep moving when everyone else fades…
