🥋 Junior Grading Week 🥋

It’s Junior Grading Week across all the clubs this week. Good luck to all our juniors taking part! 👊

⏰ Please make sure you arrive in plenty of time, and be patient if classes run slightly over as gradings can sometimes take a little longer than usual.

📕 Don’t forget to bring your red grading books with you.
If this is your first grading, you’ll receive your book on the day.

🥋 Grading Assessments This Week 🥋

Grading letters will be going out this week. Over the next few sessions we’ll be making assessments to see who is ready for the upcoming gradings the following week.

We’ve already been keeping an eye on everyone over the past few weeks, but this week we’ll be finalising those assessments and handing out grading letters to those who have met the required standard.

👉 Please try to get to training this week so we can make those assessments. If you do miss a session, you can always attend another class that week to catch up and still be assessed.

⚠️ This applies to students up to Purple Belt.

🐉 Little Dragons Update
We’re also moving the Little Dragons from tag gradings to striped belts, which will be great for the juniors as they’ll now receive an actual belt at their grading.

📩 Keep an eye out for grading letters.

As always, not everyone will grade, as it depends on whether the required standard has been met. Please trust the process — while it would be great if everyone graded every time, maintaining the standard is really important.

🙏 Please also avoid comparing your child or yourself to other students. Everyone progresses at their own pace depending on age, experience, and how often they train.

Well done to all the Wigton students working their way up. We’ve now climbed to 4th on the medal table, which is a long way from where we were when we started the club — and we didn’t have the biggest entry either.

Well done everybody. More lessons learned, more improvements to come. 💪🥋

📣 Sunday’s Competition – Important Information

We’re all set for Sunday’s interclub, and we’ve got a record entry this time – it’s going to be a fantastic day!

🏟 Venue Access:
The competition is in the sports hall, which you can usually access through the main entrance or reception, but for this event, please enter via the side of the building down Old Church Lane (see map in the photo). Parking is available at the front of the building and around the back.

☕ Refreshments:
Teas, coffees, and snacks will be available. Cash only, please – all proceeds go back into the club to help fund future events.

🕙 Timings:
• Little Dragons: starting at 10:00
• All other participants: starting at 11:00

🥋 Junior Karate Competition – Sunday 8th February 🥋

A reminder that the junior karate competition takes place on Sunday 8th February at William Howard School.

Entries have been open for a while now, so please make sure you’ve returned your entry forms.

This is an ideal starter competition, and we strongly encourage all juniors to enter.

👉 Little Dragons will be on first, so they should be finished very quickly – it should be a short day overall.

⏰ Closing date is the end of this week.
