Been north of the border this week dropping my lad off at Uni. Due to the amount of gear he loaded in the truck, for once I couldn't fit any fishing gear in. However, I've been on a reccy along the mighty Tay. A Grayling lead visit is on the cards once the Salmon season closes. As they say, watch this space!!

Had Max and his friend from the Home Counties with me this week on the Stunning River Kent in Cumbria. Neither had cast a line for the best part of 40yrs! Both went away being able to cast both single handers and lightweight fixed spool set ups. Great couple days coaching the guys.

Mark from Warrington had a great day on the river today. The day started as a short line nymphing day, however due to the versatility of these techniques, the first fish was tricked on a dry! Great day, great company.

Love the delicacy of short line nymphing. The rods 10'9" not 11'9"as stated, this could be a cool length however......maybe with a spliced tip as per my stick float rods??? Be interesting....

Think I need a shorter brimmed cap😆 Spot the bite in the first video. Made up for it on the next run through....Few Grayling and a Trout. Few more short videos to follow.

With only 4 weeks or so left of the Trout season, time to give the pins a bit of TLC. Centre Pin oil supplied by John Gibson of The Grayling Society, thanks John. I've also got a new addition, a 1960's Allcocks Match Aerial. Thanks go to another Jon from Pre-Loved Tackle, who sourced the pin for me!

Really glad to get out for a couple of hours late yesterday. Temperature has dropped back to a reasonable level. Dry dropper gave me 3 hook ups.

Baby Grayling success. 100% spawners from the class of 2023. Absolutely thrilled. Huge shout out to the guys at Calverton.😎
