Wigan MMA Academy was founded 5 years ago in 2009 by Head Coach Damian Winstanley. He has over 20years experience in martial arts consisting of, JKD concepts cross training , Brazilian Jui-Jitsu,Judo ,Shooto,Sambo, Filipino Dumog,Freestyle-Greco Roman, Catchascatchcan Wrestling,Kick Boxing , Muay Thai and Western Boxing. Wigan M.M.A Academy works with its team of students to fully support each individuals Martial Arts goals from Dietary and Strength and conditioning to competing In Grappling Tournaments to Mixed Martial Arts Events with a fully experienced Corner Team
In the 5 years of the clubs history Damian has trained and mentored James Walker to be double champion, not only is James the current cage confrontation LHW Champion he is also the Current ACB Middle weight champion holding 2 belts in 2 weight categories. Also Coaching a team numerous other Fighters to victory
Wigan M.M.A Academy is open to all levels of individuals if you just want to train for health fitness and fun to Students who wish to make a Career from the sport all are welcome Men or Women of any level .
