What a fantastic event at the Wigan Development Meet – Summer 2026

Every swimmer who competed did the club proud. 🌟

It was brilliant to see so many of our younger swimmers taking part — showing great effort, teamwork, and Wasps spirit.

We hope you all enjoyed the meet and are already looking forward to next season, with plenty more opportunities to race.

*IMPORTANT NOTICE*

The Wigan & Tyldesley Season Starter Meet has followed on from the Summer Sizzler and has seen unprecedented interest!

So much so that the gala was full within a couple of minutes of opening tonight!

We will not be accepting anymore entries either club or individual.

We will be trying hard to fit all clubs and swimmers into the gala who we have already received entries for but we can not guarantee this at the moment unfortunately!

Thank you very much to everyone for your interest and we will be in contact in the coming days with more information.

This is a standout achievement and marks Olivia as one of the top young open water swimmers in England. Her qualification reflects exceptional talent, courage and determination — open water racing demands confidence, resilience and commitment!

Qualifying for the Open Water Championships is an outstanding achievement and is the premier competition for young open water swimmers in England.

Olivia’s qualification is testament to her talent, courage and determination. Stepping into open water takes confidence, resilience and commitment and she has shown all of those qualities throughout the season.
