Here’s a couple of things you didn’t know about TKMA Wigan, and a few things to learn that might surprise you.
Let’s start with FAQ
Is there a joining fee?
No, never has been, never will be
Is it a contract membership?
No, never has been, never will be, you can stop anytime
How much does it cost?
£5 for kids, £6 for adults
£32 a month for two classes a week, £40 a month for three classes a week
Do I have to buy a kit?
No, it’s an option but at no point do you have to, I rarely wear it myself, we don’t want to make it a financial burden for those who might struggle.
Do I have to fight?
No, we understand not everybody wants to compete and be punched, nobody is forced into sparring
Is competing an option?
Ofcourse, with one of the most successful teams in the UK for our size, if you want to compete even be a champion, your in the right place
Do you do private groups/ 1-2-1?
Yes with limited availability
What do the students call the coach?
It depends which coach they are talking to, if it’s me, it’s Dale.
Are the classes strict?
It depends, if you mean like a traditional martial arts club, we are far from it, we are relaxed and a fun place to be with plenty of banter. But we are very serious about ours and other people’s goals and expect people to be respectful and always trying their best.
If I come late can I still join in?
100%, being on time would be nice and help you improve faster but we understand some things are out of our hands, better late than never.
So, the only things you need to start at tkma, is a good attitude, a reason why your coming that you can remind yourself of when it gets hard, a willingness to engage and 5 or 6 quid.
Apart from the last one, none of them cost money and all are inside every single person.
