💪 National Fitness Day is coming to Hindley Leisure Centre and Pool!

On Wednesday 16 September, we're proud to be supporting Wigan & Leigh Hospice as part of this year's National Fitness Day!

Visitors can choose to:
✅ Take on a sponsored challenge and help raise money for Wigan & Leigh Hospice

✅ Or simply get involved, challenge yourself and aim for a new personal best

We'll be running three challenges for you to choose from:

🚣🏻 Rowing Distance Challenge - Row further than ever before!
🚴🏻 Bike Distance Challenge - See how far you can ride!
🏃🏻 Treadmill Distance Challenge - Set a new distance PB!

This year's National Fitness Day theme is 'Powered By You', and throughout the day we'll be chatting to members and visitors about the health and fitness achievements they're most proud of, celebrating the physical and mental benefits of living an active lifestyle.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone get involved, stay a little longer, push a little harder and maybe even fit in an extra session or two. And if you're able to raise money for Wigan & Leigh Hospice along the way, even better!

Plus, keep an eye out for plenty of giveaways throughout the day, including isotonic drinks, protein bars and some awesome Technogym merchandise!

New Swimming Lessons for 3-Year-Olds at Hindley Pool

We are excited to introduce a brand-new swimming lesson designed specifically for children aged 3 years.

Lessons will take place in the small pool, with the swimming instructor in the water. These sessions are for children only, helping to build confidence and independence in a safe, fun and engaging environment. Children will learn fundamental water skills that will prepare them for progression into Stage 1 swimming lessons when they reach 4 years of age.

Lesson Details

Location: Hindley Pool
Start Date: Monday 14th September and Thursday 17th
Times: 1:45pm or 2:45pm
Duration: 30 minutes
When: Term time only Monday/Thursday 1.45pm and direct debit Monday 2.45pm

New Home Education Swimming Lessons at Hindley Pool

We are delighted to announce a new block of Home Education Swimming Lessons at Hindley Pool.

When: Fridays, 12:50pm to 1:20pam
Start Date: 11 September
Duration: 6 weeks, running until the October half-term
Cost: £37.20 for the full block

Each session will be supported by two qualified swimming teachers, with swimmers grouped according to their ability. These lessons will provide a more flexible and less formal environment than traditional school swimming sessions, allowing us to tailor the programme to meet the needs of the children attending.

Subject to demand, we also hope to expand our Home Education swimming provision to other Be Well Wigan pool sites in the future, giving families across the borough greater choice and accessibility.

We're delighted to let you know that the sauna and steam room at Hindley Leisure Centre are now back open and ready for you to enjoy!

After refurbishment works and some unexpected delays, we're pleased to welcome members back to relax, unwind, and enjoy the benefits of our refreshed facilities.

Whether you're looking to recover after a workout, ease tired muscles, or simply take some time to relax, our sauna and steam room are waiting for you.

We'd like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during the closure.
