🏉💛🖤 WHAT A DAY FOR OUR U7s & U8s! 💛🖤

Yesterday was a very special day for our Bulldogs kids as our U7s & U8s had the amazing opportunity to be mascots at the Academy Grand Final! 🏆

Walking out onto the pitch alongside the players, in front of a big crowd, was an experience they’ll remember for a very long time! 😍🏉

From the excitement of getting their kits on, to walking out onto that pitch and soaking up the atmosphere, the smiles said it all! 💛🖤

A massive thank you to Wigan Warriors for giving our kids such an incredible opportunity and making them feel part of such a special occasion!

And of course, a huge well done to all of our U7s & U8s kids — you represented the Bulldogs brilliantly! 👏🏼🔥

Moments like these are what grassroots rugby is all about. Memories made, friendships built and a love of rugby that will hopefully last a lifetime. 🏉💛🖤

💛🖤 Match report U7s💛🖤

Most of our teams were back at it at the weekend after a few week’s summer break, here is the report from our U7s game!

The early start didn't slow us down! Every single player put in an amazing effort from start to finish. We saw powerful running, tough defense, and the best communication we have seen all season.

It is so great to watch the things we practice in training pay off on the field. It makes coaching even more enjoyable seeing everyone playing together as a brilliant team.

A special shout-out goes to Isla, who has stepped up to become the loud, confident voice of our defense, and to Liam, who scored 4 fantastic tries with strong, direct runs.

We also had some very well-deserved awards handed out:

💛🖤 U7s match report 💛🖤

The Under-7s squad put on a phenomenal display of determination, skill, and teamwork at today’s festival hosted by Golborne.

From the opening whistle to the final match, the team showed incredible resilience across the pitch, displayed fantastic attack scoring some exceptional tries and chased down tags all morning. The energy and determination in every game was really pleasing and sets us up for the rest of the season.

A massive congratulations to Tillie and Lily on making their club debuts. Both players slotted seamlessly into the side and made an immediate impact.

Thank you to all the families and supporters who came down to cheer the team on throughout the day.

Enjoy a well-deserved rest over the remainder of the weekend, and we will see everyone back in training on Wednesday 6pm - 7pm

Wigan Bulldogs vs Hindley Stags
Wigan Bulldogs vs Chorley Panthers

A midweek fixture for us this week due to it being Magic Weekend ✨

Tonight we hosted Chorley for the third time this year and faced yet another Wigan team for the 1st time in Hindley Stags. They were two very organised teams which came ready to play rugby, but they were matched in every department by a hungry Bulldogs team 🐶

With a full complement of players, we were able to field two teams!

With lots of communication and teamwork the home team played with lots of confidence and ran in a whopping 26 tries!!

Two very proud coaches after the performances from everyone tonight. There were lots of great things to take forward from this evening, with every player stepping up week on week!

It was so great to see the kids putting together all there skills from training.

Another great morning of rugby, this time in thankfully much cooler conditions! 🌤️🏉

Today was an extra special one for our team as, for the first time, we were able to field two teams. It's a fantastic milestone and a reflection of how our squad continues to grow week by week.

We faced two well-established sides in St Cuthbert's and Shevington Sharks, who have been playing together much longer than us. Despite that, our players more than held their own, scoring some brilliant tries, making plenty of tags, and showing just how much their basic rugby skills are developing each week. We couldn't be prouder of their effort and progress! 💪

💛🖤U8s match report - Sunday 28th June💛🖤

Away at Ashton Bears, along with Wigan St Cuthberts

Today we travelled to Ashton in Makerfield, where we faced a very well organised Bears team along with merging with a spirited but depleted Cuthberts team.

With all the team getting lots of game time, along with the rotation of players to support Cuthberts it gave us a chance to see them show off their skills. They did not disappoint 😃

All very organised in defence, lots of communication and team work to keep the host to minimum scoring opportunities.

In attack we saw some great runs, with players encouraging each other and scoring some well worked tries!

The Bulldogs edged the win with an outstanding team performance. We have two very proud coaches today. Every player should be proud of their contributions today 👏🏻

And in what feels like the blink of an eye we’re here again with the 1st of our match reports!

💛🖤 Halton Farnworth Greens v Wigan Bulldogs 28.06.26 💛🖤

It was an early trip to Widnes this morning for the U13’s and in the warm up the boys seemed a little quiet however from the first whistle they were far from it.

After an early mistake the Bulldogs showed a great attitude, working together in both defence and attack and managed to get in front on the score board.

It was a tough game against some big players but the boys worked together to protect the lead in the first half, unfortunately at the end of the second half Halton managed to break the line and gain themselves a couple of tries to take the victory.

The end score was a massive improvement of the reverse fixture and all the players should take confidence from this game going forward, especially as we were missing a few big players.

A special mention goes to Oliver on his first game back in a Bulldogs shirt after a break away from rugby and to Leighton who missed out on today’s game due to his card not being ready but he still travelled with the team and supported his new club from the sidelines.

Well done Bulldogs on the performance of the season today!
