🥏Winstanley Clay Shoot is delighted to once again offer this fully accredited Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) course, aimed at those wishing to start taking part in clay or game shooting, to acquire a gun, or novices who have recently acquired a shotgun. You do not need to have a shotgun certificate to take this course.

🥏The course covers personal and range safety, shotgun types and use, cartridges, and chokes. There is also a practical session on the CPSA Method of shooting. The course includes loan guns (if required), ear protection, eye protection, all clays, and cartridges. Whilst an official CPSA course, you do not need to be a CPSA member to enrol.

🥏The morning session will comprise of theoretical aspects of the course, followed by an afternoon of practical training in the field, including 50 cartridges and clays. Refreshments will be provided but guests are required to bring their own lunch.

🥏Upon completion of the day, you will receive certification of the undertaking of Module 1: ‘Discover Clay Target Shooting’ and Module 2: ‘Shotgun Skills’. You will also receive the official round cloth badge from the CPSA identifying you as qualified in this course. Finally, a qualification record logbook will accompany the course for you to take home.

🥏💥 Every target presents a different challenge —and there is rarely a single method that suits them all.

In this ShotKam footage, you’ll see one approach to solving this particular target. The choice of shooting method is based on the target’s speed, angle, line and the visual picture it presents to the shooter.

Understanding why a technique is appropriate is far more valuable than simply copying gun movement. Consistent performance comes from recognising the target, selecting the correct method, and executing it with confidence.

Whether it’s maintained lead, pull-away, swing-through or another approach, successful shooting is about applying the right method at the right time.

This is exactly what I focus on during my one-to-one coaching sessions. By analysing your target reading, gun movement and decision-making, we develop a clear, repeatable process that gives you greater consistency and confidence on every stand.
