💜⚽️Purple Empresses last end of season presentation under FC Wigan, before their move across town.

🥅 Some very good performances this season from the gals, with quite a lot of positive praise from opposition coaches. Maybe deserving of a few more W's, but the MO has always been enjoyment and inclusivity first, and results will follow.

Proud of all the girls this season, going to be a tough challenge at 11 a side next season, but one we'll rise to, and hopefully we'll see a couple of new faces to compliment to current squad.

Special mentions to Jess🧤 and Cally; 2 new additions this season and both playing their parts incredibly well- Jess came to us already bursting with confidence and experience, adding a lot of assurance in the sticks. And Cally, a bit of an unknown, still not sure on her football history but she has clearly played before and slotted in perfectly.

🏆1 cup win under our belts this season has given the girls the appetite for more silverware, let's see what we can do!

⚽️First FC Wigan tournament this afternoon, sponsored by Massey Academy Football Coaching

Great afternoon, enjoyed by all teams. Giving the girls more football and the chance for silverware.

Early start for the pampered 💜 Purple Empresses playing away at top of the table Bridge in Rochdale, on a bog of a pitch, which the girls didn't appreciate. However they came away with 2-2 draw, and unlucky not to take all 3 points.

The afternoon saw the Purple Empresses win their 1st trophy 🏆 taking home the Massey Academy Cup, winning all their group games in the process!

Well played tournament by all involved 👏

As we start planning for next season, we may be moving to 11aside (awaiting league confirmation), which will mean we could be looking for a couple of players. If any girls are currently U12s/ in Yr7 and want to register interest with a view to training, get in touch. Currently 3rd in Section C BBDFL, previous playing experience helpful but not essential, friendly team with encouraging and none shouting coaching environment.

💜🥅 Busy day for the Empress gals. Bright and early away at Breightmet. Big fixture as 2nd hosted 3rd, with the last game between the 2 still leaving a bad taste.

The home team took the 3pts and deservedly so, however, the Empresses had periods of their own dominance, more importantly did us proud matching and potentially outdoing the physicality from the opposition. Quick mention to 3 CMs, Emily.O, Emily.H and Emmie. All 3 playing very well and bringing something different from each, a juggle getting them on all the pitch, and all 3 did themselves proud.

🏆Oppositions POM Jess 🧤. Some high level saves today, Jess made saves to keep us in with a shout, impressive.

🏆 Coaches POM Jorja. Jorja may have beef with a coach or 2, but you can't deny praise for performances like that. Determination to die for, great stuff.

💜 The girls then visited Robin Park Arena, to flag bear and be ball assistants for Wigan Athletic Ladies. Lovely afternoon watching the latics hammer local team Burnley 5-0.

The HT games saw Jorja topping off a great footballing day hitting the crossbar in the crossbar challenge, and Nicole winning a signed Latics shirt in the bingo. Really welcoming staff and a great experience for the girls to see the Latics ladies up close.

2024 done for the Empresses, good solid start to the season sitting 3rd in a competitive league, and the girls playing with a smile. Looking forward to the 2nd half of the season and more development.

⚽️💜 Cries of 'about time' from the Purple Empress faithful, as Massey Academy Football Coaching turned up to deliver a masterclass training session, after the girls have dealt with the calamitous Dave, Carl and Gaz for 12months.

Great enjoyable session, working on the fundamentals the girls need to succeed.

Was great for the girls to receive coaching from a pro who's been there and lived the dream they have, and a player they all saw up close at the DW (brick), last season when taking their pennies at HT, with the visit of Port Vale.

Appreciate Gav coming down, all made possible by the ongoing support from Trojan Lighting Solutions, once again opening doors and experience to youth in their community.
