The U18s played a home preseason friendly vs 7 Elite fc. A good performance by all involved. It was 6-1 at full time with a well rounded effort in defence and attack. Well done lads

HFH FC 3 - 1 holy rosary

Was good to be back on our home pitch after a good layoff since the end of the season. Holy rosary we’re our opponents, a team that were close to damaging our title hopes last season so we knew that they would bring us a good game today

We were missing our keeper today but luckily we had Dylan d and Finlay to step in and help the team out, and what a job they both done. Both teams started well, both creating the odd chance. We hit the woodwork through Dylan b and a couple of efforts from corners from Ethan N but went into HT at 0-0

2nd half we wanted to take more time when we have then chances on a plate. We broke the deadlock through Dylan b after good work down the right hand side. This settled us down and a 2nd soon followed after great play through Dylan d and Caleb to set up Ethan Nichols.

Credit to holy rosary who grabbed a consolation but we finished with a 3rd goal ourselves through Oliver, again after great work down the left hand side

Solid performance today against a team we will be competing with this coming season again so looking forward to the challenge

Salford city JFC vs HFH Fc

Asked to play a tough game today against another high level team who play in the JPL. A feeder club for Salford fc so we knew there would be some talent in this squad

Sadly we couldn’t field our full squad today with 4 of our regulars unavailable. But this did give the chance for others in the squad to push for that starting place for the coming season

We concede early, some good work down their left hand side and we don’t deal with the cross well enough and a great finish from edge of the box gave Salford a 1-0 lead

But we responded really well, didn’t let our heads drop and settled into the game. Getting in some good positions and just lacked that bit of composure at certain times. Another injury meant we only had 1 sub for remaining 60 mins. HT 1-0 Salford

We felt we were still in this game. But again we didn’t start the half great. Another attack down our rough hand side allowed Salford to grab a 2nd goal. Poor from us but again we tried to keep our heads up.

Tried to get another body in midfield to stop Salford finding pockets of space. In doing so we managed to score probably the goal of the game. A great passage of play from the back allowed Dan to carry on his run from midfield and lob the ball over the keeper. Game on

The boys were struggling now with the lack of changes we could make but kept pushing. A great header from Mason struck the bar unfortunately but we just couldn’t finish the rebound.

Salford grabbed a 3rd right at the end, which was a cross really but looped over our keeper , which was fantastic today btw, and game finished 3-1

No shame whatsoever given the standard of this team but can’t help but feel with a full squad we would have given these more of a game. But that’s football, best team won and we will learn from that level of team no doubt
