We had a celebration of John’s life on Tuesday, surrounded by family, friends, and cycling royalty.

What an amazing life it was filled with fun, adventure, kindness, laughter, and, of course, lots and lots of cycling!

A Widnes legend got a wonderful send off, and we all celebrated a life truly well lived.

The video below captures his busy life and many achievements, including his bronze medal in the 1956 Olympic Team Pursuit something he was always very humble about.

The music is the theme song from those Games.

Well done to our wildcats girls tonight. Fun session as always.

If you have a girl aged between 7-12, then we are staging a girls only football camp in the summer.

To celebrate the FIFA women’s World Cup, a 3 day camp will run (9-3pm, Tuesday-Thursday) on August 1-3 and 22-24 at Frank Myler Pavilion. £10 per day (half price sibling discount available).
