Halton & St Helens Badminton Our social groups, of all ages and abilities, play regularly in Widnes & St Helens. Members travel from Warrington, Liverpool, St Helens, Widnes & Runcorn.

Welcome to our page providing information, and an invitation, for anyone living in a wide catchment area surrounding Halton who wish to enjoy playing badminton. We organise three 2 hour sessions a week which require no membership. We are not a formal club but a social group who love to play badminton. Our players represent a wide range of ages and abilities, some of whom play in 2 or even

3 of the weekly sessions. We generally play doubles and have a policy of changing partners for each game in the session to ensure variety, inclusiveness and a social atmosphere. There is no need to make prior arrangements to join our games - simply turn up to the sports hall on the session(s) of your choice and enjoy the sociability and the badminton.

We have now moved into the new Halton Leisure Centre, a fantastic venue for badminton.

All 4 courts are reserved for Woodend Badminton group every Thursday from 7-00pm to 9-00pm.

All badminton players are welcome to come and play with us.

7 of the eight pictured are still playing badminton 16 years later.
2 of those pictured are still playing in our group 35 years after the formation of S&S Badminton.
We regularly have 2 courts running on Tuesday mornings.
All players are welcome to come and join us at a cost of only £3 for the 2 hour session. No pre booking required!

After having to cancel recent Tuesday sessions due to Covid and injury problems I'm pleased to say that we are back in business this Tuesday 9-30 to 11-30 at Kingsway Leisure Centre

Cronton Badminton, at Sutton Leisure Centre is active again form 6-00pm every Friday.

Woodend Badminton will be continuing next week, 7th June, but in the short term will be on MONDAY evenings from 7-30pm rather than our usual Thursday evening.

Be good to see everyone back when they feel comfortable to play. New players are always welcome.

Great news. Tuesday morning badminton restarts 1st June at the Kingsway Leisure Centre. We will be playing under the rule of 6 until further government relaxations are announced. Face masks must be worn in the Centre until you reach the court and social distancing must be observed. Usual entrance fee to be paid at the door but for the time being the club will make no additional charge.
Play safe and enjoy.

Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus problem, the Kingsway Leisure Center closed today until 26th April so unfortunately no further Badminton until the virus clears.
Stay healthy and try to keep fit.
