🎩 Hats off to these guys and Golborne Parkside ARLFC U18’s for playing yesterday in what can only be described as treacherous conditions! 💨 ☔️ But what a game! 💪🏼
Both teams braved the bitter cold, rain and wild wind of Widnes - a battle of strength and determination seeing the Tigers just sneak the win! 🏆 First time in 2 years against this tough side! 👏🏼

Last week our U18’s played a preseason game against Chorley Panthers - it was great to get the team out on the field with a great audience to cheer them on!

Tomorrow we face the same team - same place but this week it’s the real deal - first game of the 2026 season! 💪🏼

Today as every day we are remembering our gentle giant Kian 💙 How we missed you this past 12 months, your infectious laugh, your tormenting and teasing, plus your moaning and groaning on the side line 😂 and pinching all the after match food like you’d been starved all week 😜
Tonight the lads are gathering together and I’m sure you’ll be there with us, our shining star watching over us 🌟

Last weekend we celebrated our U16’s presentation night in style! First of all, a huge thank you to Dcbl Stadium for hosting us, McCanns Café and Bistro for the wonderful buffet, Every Event Party Hire Ltdfor the amazing balloons, and Widnes Vikings Rugby League Club for sending Frank Sergeant and Jordan Abdul to join us! Lucy Molloy for organising and all the fantastic parents/grandparents/siblings/friends etc for coming along and celebrating with us. 💙🎉

The players achievements were individually recognised and along with our Club and Team Awards, some very special awards were given this year in recognition of those who have played 10 years of rugby at Widnes Moorfield. 🏆
A new award in memory of our beloved Kian Rose - The Shining Star was given this year - an award for a players all round contribution to the team, on the pitch and from the sideline. This precious award will continue with us and cement Kian’s everlasting role in the team as he watches over us. 🥰

Our team manager was also suprised to realise she was the joint winner of the Terry Mellor Award this year! Thanks you to Adam Mellor for joining us! It was certainly a night of celebration! 🥳

Don’t they look smart! 🥰 Yes we’re biased but we’re sure our Moorfield lads are the most handsome by far! So proud of them all - everything they have been through the past year has been a huge testament but they have supported each other and got through it! Any he may not have been present in the photos but Kian was certainly present in their hearts and minds throughout - sure he’ll be dancing in the skies, partying along with them later 💙🌟
