Tough day at the office for our lads yesterday when we took on Orrell St James down at Wilmere Lane.

We have a break from the league now for a few weeks, but the lads will continue with training and make sure they are ready for the final few games of the season when we get back to it.

LANCASHIRE CUP SEMI FINAL

We travelled to Orrell St James yesterday for the semi final of the Lancashire Cup. The lads had done brilliantly to make it this far and were up for a tough game in hot conditions!

It was a story of 2 halves on the night... The lads produced probably the best half of rugby they have played all season. They were really up for the game, ran the ball well and were tough in defence. We went into half time with a 6-8 lead which was thoroughly deserved.

In the second half, Orrell took a couple of chances, got into the lead and the game got away from us. The lads still dug in and kept going until the end.

Disappointing to not make it through the final, but all of the lads should be proud of their efforts last night. 👏

Well done to the lads getting the awards. But a big shout out to the whole team for getting to this stage.

It was Wigan St Judes away for our lads on Sunday, a much improved performance from the reverse fixture.
Nothing in the game until a few mistakes midway through the second half and the game got away from us. Lots of positives to take though.

We hosted Blackbrook today down at a hot and sunny Wilmere Lane today. 🥵

Both teams done well with playing through the heat. Our lads took a little while to wake up, but when they did, they controlled the game well and focused on playing some good rugby, managing to get the win 30-12. 🏉

It was the Lancashire Cup Quarter Final for our lads on Sunday, away at Leigh Miners Rangers.

Was a very even match. The lads have certainly played better this season, but coaches were happy that they kept on plugging away and managed to grind out a 14-16 win!

This means we continue into the semi finals of the Lancashire Cup in a few weeks time... 🤞

Yesterday we welcomed Thatto Heath Crusaders down to Wilmere Lane for a re-arranged league game.

We started off well; some good defence and running through our plays. We ended up taking a 10-0 lead into half time.

The lads started a bit slowly in the second half and found ourselves back at 10-10. We kept chipping away and managed to claw it back towards the end, taking a 22-10 win.

A midweek game for the lads yesterday against Leigh Miners Rangers. Was a very even game throughout, however, we went a bit flat in the middle and ended up behind. The lads rallied towards the end but was a bit too late and Leigh Miners took the 2 points.

We go again this weekend in a second rearrangement of the Thatto Heath game.

We welcomed Oldham St Annes down to Wilmere Lane yesterday for a friendly as we both didn't have a league fixture this weekend.

The lads threw the ball about and used our edges well, whilst the forwards done what they needed to do in the middle. Some good individual defensive performances capped off the win.

Bit of a scrappy game today, but the lads came away with the 2 points. Zach kicked our 3 conversions, which proved to be the difference in the end.
