🇩🇪⚽ What an incredible experience for our young players! ⚽🇩🇪

Wickford Town FC were proud to recently travel to Heiligenhaus, Germany as part of the Basildon Borough Twinning Association football exchange tournament alongside Greensted Primary School and Lee Chapel Primary School.

Over the course of the trip, our players not only represented the club brilliantly on the pitch, but also represented our community, borough and country with fantastic behaviour, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout. 💛💚

The boys had the opportunity to experience a different culture, make new friendships, take part in international football and create memories that will stay with them for years to come. Trips like these are about so much more than football — they help build confidence, independence, communication and lifelong experiences.

A huge congratulations to all of the players involved, with Wickford Town FC finishing runners-up in our tournament section 👏🏆

A huge congratulations to Tate on being recognised as one of our latest Jack Petchey Foundation Achievement Award winners at Wickford Town Football Club! 👏⚽

Tate was nominated for his incredible dedication to his team, his unselfish attitude both on and off the pitch, and for always being so helpful at training. He consistently shows what being part of a team is all about — supporting others, working hard and leading by example.

We are incredibly proud of the positive attitude and commitment Tate brings to the club every week. He is a fantastic role model for his teammates and fully deserves this recognition.

🔰Mental Health Awareness Week🔰

At Wickford Town, we know football is about so much more than just the game.

Exercise, sport and being part of a team can have a huge positive impact on mental health — helping to reduce stress, build confidence, improve mood and create important social connections.

Whether it’s training with teammates, enjoying a walk to the pitch, having a coffee in the clubhouse or simply being part of a supportive community, every small moment matters.

Grassroots football gives young people and adults a place to belong, people to talk to and an opportunity to switch off from the pressures of everyday life.

This week is a reminder to check in with each other, keep conversations open and remember that it’s okay not to be okay.

A huge congratulations to one of our fantastic young players, Alfie, who has had his short story “Alfie’s Football Adventure” officially published in a Young Writers book! 💛💚⚽

We are incredibly proud to see one of our Wickford Town youngsters combining creativity with his love of football and Bartlett Park. What an amazing achievement at just 9 years old! 📚✨

It’s brilliant to see our players expressing themselves both on and off the pitch, and Alfie should be very proud of himself for becoming a published author.
