Wickersley Youth Junior Football Club is a local football team based in Rotherham. We begin training kids at age 4 and these progress through the years all the way to under 16 and sometimes older.

⛳ WICKERSLEY YOUTH JFC GOLF DAY – THIS FRIDAY! ⛳

The sun will be out for a fantastic day of golf at Rotherham Golf Club on Friday 26th June in support of Wickersley Youth JFC. Our second golf day and it’s shaping up to be bigger and better than last year!!

All entrants will have been contacted, demand has been incredible, we have been sold out for months!!

Will be great to see again golfers from local businesses, ex players and coaches all supporting our future.

We are looking to put together a brand new U8 Boys/mixed team!!!

We have the willing volunteer to coach and guide the team, whilst we sort out the DBS in the background we want to gauge interest in readiness to compete in the SDJSL this coming September.

📣 Electric bikes / scooters 📣

Tonight at Ruby Cook one of our committee members children was nearly hit by an electric scooter.

When asked by the committee member to ‘Slow Down’ the young child (must have been 12/13 years old) decided to speed up, again going 15-20mph when young children the age of 5-6 were playing in very close vicinity.

When asked to ‘slow down’ again, the committee member was greeted by some expletives from the young child. So the committee member articulated a recent case in the press were a lady was hit by an EScooter / Bike and died, still the boy gave him expletives.

The child on the scooter has no affiliation with Wickersley Youth.

If your child was out on Ruby Cook tonight on a E-Scooter please remind them about safety….

1. Of others especially young kids, the get hit by a 15mph vehicle they are getting hurt.
2. He was wearing no helmet, so whilst it may cramp his style, the helmet might save his life.

Plus we are no experts but I’m sure they are illegal to ride in a park.

I would hate to be having to speak to the police about an incident where a child has been injured or even worse killed by one of these vehicles.

Some more success for our teams at the Brinsworth Whitehill JFC tournament on Day two!!

Our Under 9 girls inspired by the Octopus Energy kit took to the pitch with great energy, switched on the focus and were electric all day!! (See what I did there 😉) ⚡️

They came away Champions of Brinsworth!

Special mention to our Under 11 girls who won all the group games with no goals conceded, unfortunately the only goal they conceded was in the final losing 1-0. Well done girls 👏👏👏

What a first day at the annual Brinsworth Whitehill JFC tournament.

Two victories 🏆🏆

The Brinsworth tournament is one of the best local tournaments around, with demand high it’s always a great occasion and a focal point for many on the summer tournament calendar.

Our U8 Girls arrived and played their hearts out all day, having an absolute blast and took home the trophy!

The U12 Whites played in a tough competitive competition, but showed grit, determination and some lovely teamwork to bring the title back up the road!

Congratulations to all and also all other Wickersley teams competition today. Let’s hope for some more silverware tomorrow!

At our recent AGM we also announced the charity in receipt of our ‘fines’ system.

Each month non attendance by our teams carries a £10 donation to a charity and this year our charity choice is Crossroads Care Rotherham put forward by our Boys Secretary Nigel Twigg.

There are over 10 million people in Britain who care for others. Many of these reach a turning point, a crossroads, at which they feel they need help…

Where they may simply need a break or more regular support. This is what Crossroads Care does. The Rotherham branch is part of a national network of local charities employing over 5,000 trained professionals Nationwide.

They have helped many of our Wickersley Youth family and will continue to do so.

We will donate £400 to the cause in the coming weeks following our AGM.

💙❤️ THANK YOU, LEN ❤️💙

Last night at our AGM, we said farewell to our Chairman, Len Curtis, as he stepped down from the role after an incredible 15 years of service to Wickersley Youth JFC.

To simply say “thank you” doesn’t seem enough for someone who has dedicated so much of his time, energy and passion to our club.

When Len took on the role, the club was facing significant challenges. We had just nine teams, one girls’ team, financial difficulties and a tournament setup that looked very different to the thriving event we know today. Through his leadership, vision and unwavering commitment, Wickersley Youth JFC has grown into one of the largest and most respected grassroots football clubs in South Yorkshire.

Today, we proudly have 37 teams across our boys’ and girls’ sections, one of the biggest and best grassroots tournaments in the country, a strong financial foundation built on prudence and responsibility, and a reputation as a club that sits at the heart of its local community.

One of Len’s greatest legacies is the growth and success of our girls’ section, which has developed into one of the strongest and most admired programmes in the area. His belief that football should be accessible to everyone has helped create opportunities for hundreds of young players.

But Len’s impact goes far beyond football.

Over the last 15 years, he has supported generations of young people not only on the pitch but through important stages of their lives. Former players can now be found all around the world, and many will remember Len’s encouragement, guidance and support as they moved into further education, careers and new opportunities.

In his own words last night, it has been “an honour and privilege to serve” and “an incredible journey.” We know those feelings are shared by so many who have been part of Wickersley Youth JFC during his tenure.

On behalf of the committee, coaches, managers, volunteers, players, parents, families and everyone connected with Wickersley Youth JFC, thank you, Len.

Thank you for your leadership.
Thank you for your commitment.
Thank you for your friendship.
Thank you for helping build the club we are proud to call home.

Your contribution to Wickersley Youth JFC will be felt for many years to come.

Always welcome at the club and I’m sure you will still hear him as compère / DJ at our Annual Festival of Football, Golf Days and many other events we rope him into!! 😂
