Wick Senior Open

On a week of very mixed weather today saw more of the same, nice spells with wind and rain in between. However, this didn't stop 19 Seniors from wrapping up and battling the elements and the course in today's Open competition.

Two men who probably know Wick better than most could barely be split after their rounds. Graham Hay and Keith Dougan achieved matching totals of 35 points, with Graham winning on account of his back 9.

However... the real story comes with the man who took the bronze podium position. In his 1st ever Open appearance at 81 years young Don McLeod took home 3rd position. Don didn't even realise he was playing in an Open until he arrived at the course this morning. Well done Don, but next time we are looking for Silver or Gold, we might have to look at that handicap 🪓 if you keep finishing in the medals!

Wick Seniors Open is going ahead today. Course is fine and no more rain expected until this afternoon. So book your teetime for this morning!!

Autumn Stroke Round 4 (9 Hole)

Thankfully Bob, Davie and Ryan managed to get the course into a playable condition after yesterday's torrential downpours and subsequent flooding.

18 players battled it out over 9 Holes and there was some competitive low scoring. Our podium all shot (-3) rounds of Nett 32's.

The winner today was Liam Mackay with a 37/32, taking Gold from Sanders Harper 39/32 and Kevin Miller in the Bronze position with a 36/32.

This win brings an added bonus with Liam qualifying for our season ending invitation only Tour Championship sponsored by Norsestone. Only a couple of chances left to qualify.

CAITHNESS SCAFFOLDING FOURSOMES MATCHPLAY KNOCKOUT 2026 - SAT 26TH SEPT

- 4 Teams will play in 4 Groups of 4.

- Each team will play 3 matches against the teams in their group over 5 Holes using Foursomes Format (alternate shot) Sh***un start

- This will provide us with 4 Winners (1 from each group) who will play a Semi (5 holes) and a Final to see who will win the belts this year.

- Scotland are on the Telly after the golf

Everyone seemed to really enjoy it last year and asked if we could play on a Sat this year.

The defending champs are unable to defend the belts, so there will be new names on the belts this year!

THE SHERIFF'S MEDAL ROUND 5

Fixture list change. I have had to delay the Wick Safari Scramble in order to get the previously postponed Round 5 of The Sheriff's Medal in this weekend coming - Sunday 20th.

Also keep an eye out as I will be looking for pairs of players to play in the Caithness Scaffolding Foursomes Matchplay Knockout the following weekend - Sat 26th
