The course is a traditional 18 hole Links

layout consisting 9 holes out and 9 back to the clubhouse. The Fairways are generous and fast running, with firm and true links greens. The course is playable all year round with rarely any winter greens in operation so it's always a fair test of your game. There are many spectacular views around the course with possibly the best saved for
the 18th tee, which offers a stunning panorama of Sinclair Bays unspoiled white sands and it's four Historic Castles which overlook the sea.

Dounreay Communities Fund Summer League Series Round 8

The weather took its toll on the number of participants for Round 8 of the Summer League, with only 20 players. It was very much a case of the luck of the draw as to whether you were able to play in the morning in the sunshine, or late afternoon/evening in the drizzle/rain.

Most of the better scoring unsurprisingly came from the earlier players. There were a couple of tight scores in the podium positions with Ewan Mackenzie taking 3rd with a nice 37 points. 2nd place went to Liam Crombie with cracking 39 points. But the winner on a very impressive 42 points was Deirdre Macangus, carrying on her from from her recent Gala Open win. Well done Dee, excellent shooting!

The Sheriff's Medal - Round 4

A beautiful day on the links for Round 4 of The Sheriff's Medal, only two more fixtures remaining after today.

Of the 21 participants there was some extremely tight scoring at the top. Club Champion Owen Cormack continued his excellent form to take the win with a 72/67 narrowly pipping another man in good form Stuart More who's 78/67 was only beaten by a better back 9. The podium was completed by Alan Farquhar with a solid 87/71. Lowest Gross went to Alan Larnach with a nice 71.

Next up we have Round 8 of the Summer League on Wednesday, before next weekends Sinclair Medal.

Extremely mixed weather for the last re-scheduled round of the ladies club championship. It varied from beautiful flat calm and sunshine to a strong cross wind and rain. There was also evidence of hail and pools of water of the course. Typical Caithness summer weather 😝

Dounreay Communities Fund Summer League Series Round 7

24 players participated today, early on it was breezy, but into the afternoon and early evening the wind died right down. As a result the later players took advantage.

The pick of the bunch was Ross McAdie who amassed a very impressive 41 points to take the win. In 2nd place only 2 points behind was Fiona Harper on a cracking 39 points. 3rd place went to the ever steady Nicky Klimas with another very solid 38 points.
