Round 10 & Finals

Game 1 3rd place play off
Wick Wildcat's Vs Bissett's Bulls

In sweltering heat these teams were fighting it out for 3rd place.
It was an interesting match with some spectacular moves, at one point Captain Andrea of the Wildcats passed to Jack Macleod who used his volley ball skills to DIG the ball over his head to the flying Sinclair Bremner down the wing who ran in unimpeded.
Abbey Munro and Farrah Mackay were the stand outs of the tie showing off all footy skills. It wasn't all smiles and rainbows however Young Davy Swanson was sent to the blood bin after an accidental collision only to return 2 minutes later after seeing the on site medic (his mum's snot rag and hug sorted him)
A very competitive entertaining high scoring match with the Bruising Bulls inching out a final win of 19 - 15.

Game 2 Wooden Spoon Play off
Teuchter's Vs Pulteney Pigs
The Wooden Spoon decider was a fiery encounter on an evening that already had plenty of HEAT! Both teams playing for pride it became a personal battle.
Once again Foub's Flying Pigs were scrambling at the last minute to fulfill the fixture, scavenging from all available bystanders.
The Old faithful Teuchters ran out with their original unchanged squad.
The Pigs got off the mark early with a brace of try's with the aid of the down hill, with the mercury still pushing into the 20s the tempo of the match dropped quickly. If it weren't for the V8 engine of young Tamzin Rosie and the squirrel like reflexes of Alex Traill the Teuchters may have ended up a cropper.
With only 1 score splitting the sides at the interval and with refereeing duties off their captain the Teuchter's were now at full strength. Immediate impact from Sutherland put the Teuchter's on an even keel. However parity was short lived as the Pigs perked up with some suspect ref decisions and the impact of big Willie Crow. The Teuchters hung tough but the Pigs avoided the timber cutlery and ran away victors 16-11.

Game 3 Grand Final
Rory's Rhino's Vs Pulteney Pirates
With the notable absence of Alan the every ready bunny Mackenzie and Captain of the Pirates the confident smiles on the Rhino's faces were hard to disguise.
However the opening 5 minutes did not go to the form guide with the Pirates hammering the Rhino's line, the deadlock was finally broken against the run of play to Rory's crew as they wiggled through for a touch down.
An immediate re-post from the Plucky Pirates put them all square and the defensive battle began again. With the waft of half cooked snags coming from the touch side Barbie the teams were notably fatiguing and the half time whistle could not come soon enough. 6-5 HT
Several cans of juice and questionable cooked hot dogs later the action started again, a sluggish start from the Rhino's put the Pirates level and so it went back and forth for several more scores at 9 a piece and the silverware was anyone's until the Anderson's finally clicked and put on a master class 3 minute try fest breaking the spirits of the battle wary Pirates. Final Score 12 - 9
Later Captain Rory stated
"It was a well deserved win for us we had envisioned this day for weeks all my hard recruiting efforts and tactical analysis has paid off. To the Pirates they tried hard and I expected a close encounter but I had faith that my squad would get the job done, very glad to take home the bacon."

Well done to Rory and his Rhino's and many thanks to all involved throughout the Season. I hope to see you all at Millbank to cheer on the Greens over the winter and look forward to next Summers’ Touch Tournie.
