Another tournement that has took us to represent the West Yorkshire Women & Girls Softball Finals Day!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Firstly a Thankyou to Hartshead Moor for hosting.
A huge Well done To Bradford and Bingley for that final win 🏆 Well done Ladies!!
And Thankyou to Brad for umpiring our games!!

Here’s what our captain Vikki Rivers had to say….

Honestly, I could not be more proud of every single one of you. You played your socks off, gave performances of a lifetime and I got to witness every moment of it as your captain. What an honour. 🥇

A massive shoutout to our Dev players who absolutely SHOWED UP today. Fielding, batting you were giving some of the First Division’s best a serious run for their money and making it look effortless. Just Incredible. 👏

To our keepers…. showing off as usual! 😄 Not ONE ball got past you. Flawless.

And yes, we lost that last game but with only one boundary and one wicket conceded, we still knocked up a healthy 40-odd runs and fought every single ball. THAT is what this team is made of. 💪

But above everything else, it was the team spirit that won us those medals!! The cheering, the support, the belief in each other that’s what makes this group so special. 🥹🏅

A huge congratulations to Jacky Midgley! A skill masterclass behind the stumps — cheeky dives, fell OVER the stumps going for a run out (dedication much? 😂)
2 bowled wickets, with plenty of great hits and well timed runs with bat in hand.

And can we talk about THAT catch I took?! Still not over it. Probably never will be. 😏🙌

Couldn’t have chosen a better way to spend my “rest day” than with you lot!

🏏Tonight our Development Team headed down to M**f Field to audition for Dancing on Ice ......sorry play a Softball match 😂
(You can't say were not committed to the game, playing in the rain!)

BSP were batting first and did well against some amazing bowlers.
Vik and Becky both hitting a 4, and Nevaeh hitting 4 4s! 👏🏻

We really came into our own fielding, stopping lots of good shots, keeping the overall score tight.

Our bowling was outstanding with Emma, Jess, Darcy, Liv and Alice all putting on an amazing show! Nevaeh smashing it with 2 maidens really keeping us in the game!

Shout out to Alice and Vik for their run outs! (Alice blasted the stumps out of the ground 🔥)

Although we came second on the night, we had such a laugh all together and the M**f Field ladies were all so friendly and supportive!
We can't wait to play you again!

Tough but great game for our ladies against Cullingworth Cricket Club on Bank Holiday Monday!! ☀️🏏

Playing in that heat was never going to be easy, but every single one of us gave it absolutely everything from start to finish. So proud of the effort, teamwork and determination shown out there..
And the BBQ after was delicious!!! 🍔

That day was about more than cricket though..
We wore purple in memory of the lovely Ellerie 💜💜💜
Every run, every ball and every cheer was played with her in our hearts.

Win or lose, moments like these remind us what being part of a team is really about 💜

🏏Friday night saw our Develolment Team play Bowling Old Lane Cricket Club Ladies at home.

The sun was shining and spirits were high and although the score didn't go in our favour everyone had fun and some great cricket was played!

Faye Towers stood out, taking on 3 overs, doing an amazing job at bowling and taking a well deserved wicket 👏🏻

Vicky Louise showed off her nerves of steel again, bowling an absolute cracking final over, taking a wicket with the last bowl!

Kacey played her first game and did some brilliant batting and bowling against some really tough opposition players.

Gemma Thompson impressed us all bowling 2 perfect overs, no wides (which came as a huge shock to her!)

Ending the game on a wicket won our Vik the well deserved Player of the Match title!

Bowling Old Lane were a lovely group of ladies and we look forward to visiting their ground for round 2 ☺️

The team never take the score too seriously, momentum could have been lost however every single person gives their all from start to finish, improves, spur each other on and show incredible resilience!
They are the true definition of 'Team Players' 👏🏻

We couldn't be prouder of the girls week on week.

🏏Last night our Development Team took a trip to East Bierley Cricket Club to finally get bank holidays rearranged game played.

BSPCC Women’s Cricket Team won the toss and so elected to field first.

We showed off some strong fielding, improved bowling which was topped off with some fantastic catches from Vicky Louise and 👏🏻

Our batting started strong with Ellen Nero Melvin hitting 2 4s and Rebecca McDonnell, Vicky, Jess and Liv all hitting a 4.
Special mention to Liv for her score of 8 runs 🌟

East Bierley came out on top on the night and we can't congratulate them enough.
They showed amazing batting, bowling and fielding, as well as being so friendly and we look forward to welcoming them to BSP at the end of the season ☺️

Massive congratulations to Jess for landing Player of the Match for her outstanding performance 🌟

Whilst the score wasnt in our favour, we worked together as the amazing team we are, smiling all the way through.

Friday saw our annual presentation celebrating another year of growth for our women’s section.

The ladies softball 1st team finished the regular season top of the league but after the additional games finished 3rd - a disappointing end to the season but a huge improvement on previous seasons.

The ladies development team had a tough season but a season of more player development and most importantly having fun, which is what the team is all about!

The ladies hardball team played their first season in a hardball league. A massive effort from the girls and competing with teams with more hardball experience and finishing 2nd was a great effort.
